Hollywood Playhouse - The Humphrey Bogart Collection is a unique compilation of four Oscar-winning films specially adapted for the radio and performed by many of the original film stars in front of a live studio audience. Originally broadcast on the radio, they were to become as popular with the public as the movies themselves.
These programmes have been re-mastered and re-edited from the original radio broadcast.

The African Queen with Humphrey Bogart and Greer Garson
Adapted from the novel by C.S. Forester, it is set in 1915 during the First World War on the treacherous rivers of war-torn Africa. Rose Sayer, the prim missionary is offered safe passage by Charlie Allnut, the gin-drinking river trader who reluctantly agrees to help her travel down river and destroy a German gun boat.
Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman
Perhaps the most watched of all Hollywood movies, tells the story of Rick Blaine, a night club owner in Casablanca and his former lover, Ilse Lund, who persuades Rick to help her husband to escape from the Nazis. Featuring the classic song ‘As Time Goes By’.
In The Maltese Falcon, Humphrey Bogart stars as the private detective Sam Spade, who becomes involved in the quest for the priceless and much-coveted black falcon statuette.
The Treasure of The Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart and Walter Huston
We follow the fortunes of three ill-matched gold diggers, who are searching for treasure in Mexico. As they hunt for their elusive prize, the three prospectors become progressively more corrupt and greedy and fall foul of each other’s all-consuming greed, in this exciting adventure story.
