Her parents were murdered by a man, who they believed was a friend. He took Ciara after killing her parents and shipped her to England to sell her. The hero saw her at the slave auction and purchased her to save her. Interesting story with HEA. Good narrative.

FINALLY a true love story by this author

I loved this book. It was the 1st one that felt balanced between the plot and the romance. Oddly, though short feels just right. Gone are all the overdone details of the previous books. No errors or inconsistencies. In fact, there is an explanation & and tie-in with the results of book 3... though the timing feels a tad off, it can be justified.

Best of all, I could feel the love between these two. Though not as exciting as book 3, Cedric and Ann, the romance was better! I find that of these first 6 books, books 6 & 3 were the best. With 1 & 2 being awful...strange that the writing could differ so drastically. Hopefully, the author will continue with her newly found improved concise style for book 7 & so on.

Lawrence and Zehra

Short and beautiful. The main characters were great. Really enjoyed this little love story.

Fairly Original

Sweet Short. The narrator does a great job and it moved fairly quickly. It was free but would not be worth a credit consider the length of the novelette.

A believable love match!

This is my favorite book in the series so far. This was a story with true, honest emotions. The hard decisions that had to be made, between siblings, regarding the call of duty and love for your family.
The grandfather coming to terms with the loss of a daughter, due to his initial struggle to accept her choice for a husband, based on his ethnicity. Societal norms and expectations were examined in this book in a manner that was not offensive and allowed listeners to understand the history. A good job touching on delicate subjects to explain the historical details of the book.
I was glad with the way the couple expressed their reasons for their love of one another and their reason to marry.

Liked the story

A few previous books were to long, this one way to short. Overall it was a good story.

Cute story

Like the story pretty much can do without all intimate details. The narrative is a little sing-song.Otherwise enjoyed it.

I listened to this one in one day. It was a nice change to the others. Very enjoyable. I recommend.

Great storytelling

Loved these stories. Listened to all of them for a second time and some for the first time and relished each one. Well written with intrigue, suspense, and love. Loved the way you carried the friendships throughout the series. Job well done Lauren 👍🏻. Narration was well done with great characterizations, accents, and intonations. Smooth transitions from character to character. Great job to Heather, Nathaniel, Carolyn, Tracy, and Catriona, but especially Heather and Nathaniel 👍🏻👍🏻.

I doubt many virgins could tolerate the description

I don’t know of any ladies who we would have been able to engage multiple times at on the first venture.
