About this listen
Stuart Bray (Author of 'The Heretic' and 'Violence On The Meek') and Jason Nickey (Author of 'Static And Other Stories' and 'Wreckage') come together to bring you a collection of horror stories. These 6 stories serve as a love letter to old anthologies, but with an Appalachian twist.
Jump in on the horror of an infectious glowing orb from the sky, a redneck fight club with a supernatural contender, a cautionary tale of betrayal, a mysterious tape dropped off at a video store, a reflection on childhood trauma, and a brutal tale of revenge.

Story
Tanner thought church camp would be boring. That this summer would be forgettable, uneventful, and lifeless. Then, he was surprised to make two friends, both of whom share his interests and anxieties. Together, maybe the three of them have a chance of surviving this long, hot summer. But all is not what it seems at Creston Camps.

Story
When the world ended ... we were left to fend for ourselves. Trapped in a mental health clinic, we watched from our window as everything around us fell to pieces. This is not a zombie apocalypse. It's not a nuclear holocaust either. And it's no plague ... but it's something worse. Something we couldn't have predicted.

Story
There's a movie marathon happening at the Miller Cinema. Everyone is there, including young Georgie Prince. Georgie is a horror fan, and he's excited to see some flicks he's never heard of. He doesn't realize that there is something wrong with the movies. It was an old tradition. A mix of cinema and stage show, where actors playing monsters leapt out of the screen and rampaged through the audience. The only problem is that this time ... they aren't acting!

Beauty is...pain. But for Pamela Rose beauty is everything. She spends every day and almost every dollar fighting a losing battle against nature. When a young coworker comes to the office with a new set of breast implants, Pam's delicate psyche begins to crack. Doctor Joseph DiBiro used to make art from flesh and plastic, but after his release from prison the only thing he's handling is a broom. He knows he has more to give the world; he's not done creating beauty. He just needs the right patient.

Story
Rick Richardson was a writer. He was good, too, despite what the reviews might've said. They said his writing was bad, but Rick knew that wasn't true. He knew the real reason they didn't like his books was because of the content. You see, Rick wrote "splatterpunk"...it was understandable that people might be triggered by the graphic nature of his stories. But then again, that's what the trigger warnings were for.

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Story
When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He'd ride up on his white steed and break the curse I've been fated to carry since the day I was born. Funny how things changed over time, how the fairytale twisted into something far more crooked—and darker—than I ever imagined. In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was.

Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Delightful Redneck Horror
Jason Nickey and Stuart Bray delve into the depths of backwood hillbilly horror and delivers frights, laughs and utter strangeness. These two talented authors each bring three tales of their own flavors of redneck madness that has no limits. With demon trees, scummy ponds and endless woods. Not only are the stories fantastic, but so is the narration. If you enjoy some white trash terror, this is the book for you!

These two men together are a force to be reckoned with. Each story outdoes the other with vile digustingness. I feel dirty after listening to this, I don't think a shower will help me feel clean.
