Kept me on my toes once I got into it!

It started out a little slow. I almost gave up on it, but glad I didn’t.

Not the best from Goddard

I usually love Elizabeth Goddard’s books. This one didn’t quite hit the mark, though, and I am going to return it. I think the main issue is the harsh nature of the narrator’s voice. She also does not do a terribly great job distinguishing between character voices. When I found myself looking at how much time was left in the book and bemoaning another few hours of listening to her voice, I knew that was my sign to go ahead and return the book. In addition, the storyline has felt like it drags and I haven’t been able to make a connection with any of the characters 3 hours into the book.
