I felt as if I was there with the characters

I love Carolyn Brown's books. They are so comforting. This book features four generations of well off women who have left West Virginia for the rigors of a farm in Oklahoma. I feel as if I am sitting at the table with the ladies in Hidden Secrets as they prepare foods and talk to one another. In this book each female character has a secret that is revealed to the other characters. The revealed secrets draw them closer. One reviewer commented that everything comes too easily to the characters, but I frankly want their lives to be good. I did not want to read about failure and struggling. I was drawn into this story and felt quite satisfied by the ending. Lovely story.

The narrator is very talented. I forgot she was there and only believed the characters were present. I knew who was talking and never thought about the narrator's accent. She just honestly and quietly performed the characters and made them come alive.

Delightful story of friendship and love!

This was my second experience with a Carolyn Brown novel and it did not disappoint! As a frequent reader of classic literature I'm usually too critical to enjoy the nuances of a cozy little novel, but Ms. Brown takes the genre to a new level, in my opinion. Full of characters that you feel an instant kinship with Hidden Secrets takes you on the journey of a lifetime with four generations of women and explores their relationships as they find themselves in a world completely detached from the one they left behind.

Love Ms Brown's story and the delightful narration. I must have reread this book 3 times now.

This was a fun book. I love Carolyn Brown and some of hers are better than others. This was a very good one. Loved the characters and the story was great. Narration was great. Loved that there was less swearing in this than some of hers

I absolutely love the narration. She is excellent and it feels as though your right there. The book went fast and was full. I highly recommend it!

Good book but hard starting.

There are so many characters in the first two or three chapters to keep track of that I almost didn’t listen to the entire book. Once I get started it’s very good book!

Love the story line and Shannon McManus reading help me visualize each chapter. Enjoyed everything about this book!

Second time for this book Nothing in the world like a Karen brown book I think I have read everything She has published so far. Very favorite.

Wonderful family love story of moving back to Oklahoma roots and honoring grandma . Great Girl power story!

Family Secret's....

This story was entertainingly funny and sad at the same time...I especially enjoyed the banter between the Brewster women from the Great Grandmother to the great granddaughter...although each woman had her own issues the story flowed seamlessly and kept my attention until the very end....the narrator did an awesome job with the different voices which also made this a fun read...this is my first time with this author and narrator and I look forward to hearing more from both
