A must read!!!

I was a little skeptical about the author, narrators but from chapter 1 was blown away by the story. It’s beautifully captivating and holds your full attention. Highly highly recommend this audiobook, plus Mr. Lane and Ms. Row clearly gave a very vivid and touching while performing a 77 chapter long audio. Holding anyone’s attention for that long requires serious commitment from all artist envolved. Absolutely captivating story!!!

So much love for the Morgan family.

I loved the story, the characters, and the writing (especially the banter between the Morgan brothers). I hated Lauren Rowe's narration. Sometimes she was overly emotional, which was annoying, while other times she just steamrolled right over parts I'd have loved for her to take her time on. And her reading of the intimate scenes seemed like she was almost embarrassed to read her own writing. Just not great. That part was a real bummer. But everything else was great. Looking forward to listening to the other books in this series.

Hero was a love at first sight romance that I absolutely didn’t mind.


I can’t tell you how excited I was to read Colby’s book. Of all the delicious Morgan brothers, he is the one that has intrigued me the most. In a family full of outgoing, huge personalities, he was the much more mellow, chill Morgan brother. The brief mentions of him in the other books painted him clearly as a thoughtful, caring person.

Also… he’s a firefighter. Swoon.

From what I’d heard from Lauren Rowe herself — as well as all the other reviews I’d only peeked at (because I didn’t want any spoilers) — I anticipated this book to be heart-wrenching and swoony and amazing.

And it was.

But.

And here is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5… I so wished that Colby was more different than his brothers (and even Josh and Jonas) than he turned out to be. He kept doing “out of character” things (I put that in quotes because it was mentioned in the book that it was out of character for him) and I really wish he would’ve … I don’t know … stayed in character.

I wanted more depth and maybe a little brood, but instead he wasn’t too different than most of Lauren Rowe’s other male characters.

Not that I have any issues with those characters — particularly with Keane, I feel like the over-the-top, crazy self-confidence was perfect for that character… but I wanted something much different from Colby.

I really liked Lydia’s character and I loved that she is biracial (Holla! Me too!). Typically, I tend to shy away from the single mom trope… but the kids all had such vibrant personalities and their interactions with Colby were so on point and pulled at the heartstrings.

As usual, LR fully had me believing that these two were meant to be… and that love at first sight was actually possible for them.

(Side note: The bitchy side character, Ramona, was way too one-dimensional)

All-in-all I loved this novel. It didn’t fully live up to my crazy high expectations, but it was well worth the read.

Good story of true love at 1st sight.

Very nice story. I enjoy a good HEA ending. This story had it all. Beautiful people who were well off and kind to all family members. Unfortunately, it did not peak my interest to want to read the other Morgan brothers stories. This account was enough.

So Good!

It grabs you in the first few chapters and doesn't let go. I cried and felt gutted. I listened at work and had to hide my tears. I laughed out loud. Wonderful story line. Terrific narrators. This author is new to me and now I am compelled to listen to all the other books in the series.

loved it, emotional, heartfelt overcoming obstacles, PSTD, family acceptance and growth. great storyline recommend read. chemistry!

Steamy Firefighter Romance

This was a fantastic, steamy romance. I loved getting know Colby and sympathizing with Lydia. The Morgan family seems like a fantastic family to be a part of. I can’t wait to read the others in this series.

Great Read

Hero (The Morgan Brothers, #1) was another great read by Lauren Rowe. Colby Morgan is a firefighter who was injured in a fire. He knew that once he laid eyes on Lydia, she was the woman for him. Lydia is now his physical therapist while in the ICU. They both have things that need to be fixed about each other. I really enjoyed Colby and Lydia’s story and can’t wait to read more by Lauren Rowe.

awesome book

despite some tragic moments, I really loved the story and the Morgan family as a whole. Colby is the personification of the perfect man. I was slightly disappointed at the spoilers at the end in relation to the other Morgan brother's books. I now understand that the books were written out of order, but I would have loved to not know the end of Ryan's story until I actually got to his book.

I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this beautiful and joyous story!! I’m super happy to see the whole heart wrenching tradition of romance novels needing to include some huge disaster/misunderstanding/lack of communication that tears the love birds apart for a matter of days-years, completely broken!! I always hated that part and wished I could just once read a story that just went well for once and showed the audience that yes stuff does in fact go wrong, but the most romantic thing in the world is how you get through it TOGETHER!!! Amen to Lauren Rowe... MY HERO!! I truly Loved this story and just wished there were a series to follow including the love stories of the rest of the Morgan clan. 🙏🤞
