About this listen

Oliver Stone and the Camel Club return in #1 bestselling author David Baldacci's most stunning adventure yet.

An attack on the heart of power . . .
In sight of the White House . . .
At a place known as . . .

Hell's Corner.

John Carr, aka Oliver Stone-once the most skilled assassin his country ever had-stands in Lafayette Park in front of the White House, perhaps for the last time. The president has personally requested that Stone serve his country again on a high-risk, covert mission. Though he's fought for decades to leave his past career behind, Stone has no choice but to say yes.

Then Stone's mission changes drastically before it even begins. It's the night of a state dinner honoring the British prime minister. As he watches the prime minister's motorcade leave the White House that evening, a bomb is detonated in Lafayette Park, an apparent terrorist attack against both leaders. It's in the chaotic aftermath that Stone takes on a new, more urgent assignment: find those responsible for the bombing.

British MI-6 agent Mary Chapman becomes Stone's partner in the search for the unknown attackers. But their opponents are elusive, capable, and increasingly lethal; worst of all, it seems that the park bombing may just have been the opening salvo in their plan. With nowhere else to turn, Stone enlists the help of the only people he knows he can trust: the Camel Club. Yet that may be a big mistake.

In the shadowy worlds of politics and intelligence, there is no one you can really trust. Nothing is really what it seems to be. And Hell's Corner truly lives up to its name. This may be Oliver Stone's and the Camel Club's last stand.

Ok

Not as good as his others. Too many characters to develop. I'll try another soon

Non stop plot twists

Great story, many plot twists with several surprises. Good sequel to the other books in this series.

Great series

Getting through all the info I the first book of this series was a little hard but once you did this series was an excellent read. Ron and Orlagh are good at reading this book and David never disappoints.

Dissapointed

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I was dissapointed by this book. I have listened to the first three in the series and really enjoyed them. This book became predictable and programatic. I hope the follow up has more integrity and reintroduces the reader to the esprit de corps of the Camel Club.

Such a disappointing wrap to the Camel Club

As always, McLarty and Cassidy are 5 stars!!
Each Camel Club book was less captivating, intriguing and exciting, but they started out at such a high level that this was to be expected. However, this storyline is all over the place, pulled back in by weak “spies and lies” justifications, and finally scraped back together in a poor attempt to qualify earlier timelines and occurrences. (Pretty laughable, however, how Baldacci made the Navy SEAL/security genius/prodigious assassin Finn sit on the JV bench and watched John Carr’s “best in the world at everything/McGyver-esque” persona evolve and solve the world’s issues)
Very disappointing and not at all the Oliver Stone/John Carr books we grew to love. Gave the story line 2 stars only because I love the Camel Club characters!

It's a Twister

Just as you think you have the story figured out, Baldacci inserts another twist. I kept thinking the end was near, then something else would happen. I think this book had more twists than any I have read by him. It was great.

Oliver Stone

If you can’t make a movie out of this series of books, then nothing should. I have read all the books three times. The characters are simply amazingly, would love to see how he does it....

Glitchy download

Never heard the end. it glitched partially through. Could not find a way to do anything about it. Thought I paid for an entire story.

Worst Baldacci ever

I was so disappointed. Story is uneven, unbelievable and characters poorly drawn. The use of multiple voices was very distracting.
