Absolutely amazing yet again!

So many twists! Some I saw coming, others I definitely did not. It was an incredible ride! The stakes are higher than ever and there’s so much more depth to this story than anyone might guess at first. So glad I got on this ride and I can’t wait for the next book.

I sure didn't see THAT coming...

I am loving this series! The characters are likeable and relatable, and the pace is quick and full of action. As an avid reader, I find most stories fall into a kind of formulaic predictability. But the originality and sheer creativity of this storyline has left me completely unable to predict what happens next.....and I LOVE that! I can't wait to see how this all turns out in the next book! superb voice acting meets a superb story!

Another amazing installment

I adore Rachel’s work and this one was full of all the exciting battles, dialogue and twists and turns I love in a story.

This volume frustrated me

Not exactly sure why but was a frustrating book to get through. Part I think was main two characters just was acting and doing stupid stuff . As if author despised they would do the wrong thing at the wrong time on purpose . Nemini was great and glad she got more ink .

Another great book in the series

Another great installment to the series. I can’t wait to see where things go from here!

Losing over and over and over again

Ugh, given that this was an Empire Strikes Back middle kind of story, I’m afraid this is going to be a glacially slow series that loses me book by book as I turn to dust waiting for progress.

There wasn’t a single battle won by Bex or Adrian in the entire book. The closest they came to a win was in the very beginning, as Bex frees a group of demons and frets that it’s a tiny fraction of all the enslaved demons.

Bex’s arc is her endlessly battling an emotionless demon and Bex suffering defeat after defeat, and then battling another, where Bex loses some more. And still, Bex keeps throwing herself against the wall.

Adrian’s arc has him endlessly being a chump, blindly seeking a mentor, or a plan, or answers, yet utterly failing to asking any smart questions.

Both MCs proceed separately for 90% of the story before coming together for an unsurprising twist and a cliffhanger that promises more books of pain, loss, and poor choices. Worst of all: Team Bex barely did anything here: no heists, no humor, no action …and even with Nimini featured on the book’s cover, her role was limited. I’m afraid this series is all about the eternal battle between millennia old beings who reincarnate; that story was old when it started and has already worn out it’s welcome.
