Editorial reviews

Tessa Dalton's authoritative performance sets the tone of this book by television commentator and former congressional investigator Barbara Olson. Dalton's richly-textured voice and measured pace anchor Olson's shocking revelations about Hillary Rodham Clinton's complicity in her husband's wrongdoing, as well as the fallout from her pursuit of power. Peppered with tidbits about Clinton's early political ambitions, Olson uses countless interviews and Washington insider sources to build an unflattering picture of Clinton as a political radical seeking to encourage revolutionary change.

The parallels to the world today is insane

I loved this book not only because she was my great-aunt, but it was just a well written book that kept me listening!

Hillary Exposed

What made the experience of listening to Hell to Pay the most enjoyable?

I was very much surprised to read about how treacherous Hillary actually is when outed from behind her mask of moderation.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have always had a less than favorable opinion of the Clintons but this expose of Hillary's desire for power at ANY cost was even shocking to me.

The story was informative

Informative, but the narration was lacking. Very difficult to follow. Poor performance. The experience was less enjoyable to me because of that.

Before dying in the 9/11 attacks, Barbara Olson

Before dying on 9/11/2001, when her jetliner crashed into the Pentagon, Barbara Olson did her country a solid service by era searching and exposing the corruption of Hillary Clinton. Olson also gives credit to Hillary where it is due, observing that Hillary was a superbly organized campaign manager for her husband in his campaigns after 1980, although Hillary herself downplays that role.

Just a week or so before her death, I saw Barbara Olson interviewed on C-SPAN, and it was clear that she was no Hillary Clinton fan. At the time, I was pretty much unaware of what bad news Hillary and her husband were, and I found Mrs. Olson's presentation rather off-putting. Now I know better.

Much praise to the late Barbara Olson. May she rest in peace.

The style of the audio book reader is a bit of an acquired taste. She pronounces almost all the words well, but the prosody of her reading comes off a bit snooty . . . sort of like Lovey Howell of Gilligan's Island, but with less of a lisp. I give her a B+.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator. I understand that it is hard to find a balance when reading books. There are those with no tone inflections that, despite a great book, tends to put the listener to sleep. Then there are narrators like this one, where everything is stressed as though what is being said is of great revelation even if all they are saying is "she was born on.." You get the feeling that there are 20 exclamation points at the end of every sentence. You start to find yourself rolling your eyes at ever drawn out word and every spike in tone.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tessa Dalton’s performances?

I will not say no, as this could have just been a case of bad direction, but I will be weary in the future.

Any additional comments?

Narrators are a personal performance. The narrator ruined the audio-book for me. This does not mean the book itself was a bad one. I think the author makes some good points and her arguments are verifiable. However, until I read the actual book I cannot give this book a fair review on its content.

Shockingly how blind people are!

Everyone should read this book for the “Clinton Truth”! Back in the 80’s and 90’s I did not have “my ear to the ground” as I do now! Sickening evil people they are!

Told by a lawyer about a lawyer

Sorry to say, this book was chock full of legalese and this made it a challenging read for me. The book required a level of attention that I was not expecting. While there is no doubt that Clinton's behavior is scandalous, I was simply not in the mood to listen to the endless legal explanations of her conduct.
