About this listen

Three Alex Hawke novellas never before on audio.

Crash Dive: Alex Hawke is in hostile foreign waters, flying an F-16 Viper at nearly the speed of sound, at an altitude no sane man would dare, on a highly covert mission. His task is simple: enter another nation’s airspace undetected, meet a secret contact, and find a way to avert a global war.

What Comes Around: An esteemed former CIA director dies off the coast of Maine. Another senior CIA officer is found dead of a “heart attack” in a posh Paris hotel. Counterspy Alex Hawke and his friend Ambrose Congreve think this could be more than coincidence. Hawke discovers that the victims are connected through one man: Spider Payne, a rogue intelligence officer whose dangerous exploits got him barred from the CIA.

White Death: A powerful Swiss banker is found dead, frozen at the base of a soaring Alp. When a second man, the head of a rival banking empire, is found dead deep inside a mountain cave, MI6 suspects a bizarre conspiracy. Vast sums may have been plundered from the Queen of England’s accounts. The British royal family’s centuries-old Swiss bank holdings are at risk, shaking the foundations of Her Majesty’s government and the monarchy itself.

2 good, 1 bad

The first two stories are well done but the last one is all talk and no action, and boring talk at that.

Repeat x 3!

The 3 Alex Hawke novellas within this audiobook are merely shortened portions of previous Hawke adventures.
The last being the novel were Alex goes ice-climbing in the Alps.
So true Hawke devotees will have to wait for the next full length novels to be published. I'll save you a chair.

Totally loved it!

The stories are great, entertaining and full of spirit. John Shea’s performance is brilliant. What a great voice! Ted Bell does it again!!!

Sorry I didn’t read the reviews first. Just repeats from earlier books. Didn’t bother finishing.

Misleading...

All three of these stories seen familiar. The second story ''What Comes Around'' is from the novel ''Patriot''. I wonder if anyone can identify where the other two are from?

RIP OFF

This is just stories from other books. I feel cheated and when I tried to return it they said I could not. Very bad for business. I have bought over a 100 books and really think they need to change the return policy.

What a waste of time

The first story starts and stops and you still don’t know why except Alex saves the world. The second story sounds familiar from a previous book and the third one is flat out boring. If I had not read the other books in the series I would not buy another. John Shea was as usual very good.

Only one short story.

Only one short story, other two are just edits of other books. Glad I just lost a credit, not money. I am think of returning audio book.
