About this listen

For fans of Maya Banks's KGI series, prepare to meet the men of the Delta Force Brotherhood, a sexy new contemporary series where kicking ass and living hard is just how they roll.

Ex-special forces ranger Dylan McCourt is a stone cold killer who cares only about his military brothers and doing what's right. He's used to giving orders and has zero patience for bullshit. Most people tremble when they look him in the eye, but not his infuriatingly sexy new rescue mission, Jessie Lyon. She just juts her chin and says she's not leaving without clearing her father's name, to hell with his rules. And was that a one finger salute he sees in her eyes or his imagination? Either way, he knows this is one job his training might not have prepared him for.

Contains mature themes.

Great Story Horrible Narration

Narrator was awful. Voice is grating. Female voices horrible. I could not listen to his voice anymore after chapter 10 and finished the book by reading it.

Story line

It was a story I would normally listen to but I could not get past the narration! Because all the voices sounded the same, even the females it made it hard to follow. When it came to the bad guy all I could do is laugh at the attempt made at making him sound like a head of a crime family from Bronx! The way the description off this crime head made him sound like he should be suave not Ah hel, so who ya workin’ for!

Nonsensical, repetitive and cringe

Nonsensical:
She creates a disguise by gelling her hair with pink hand soap.
She’s a former cop who goes undercover all by herself.
Crime boss catches her their office and (a) doesn’t kill her,
(b) holds her for over a week, and (c) merely starves her and hoses her with water.
His team finds and rescues her within a day of being hired
… and then the two of them separate from the team … for no reason.

Repetitive:
Well, actually, the reason is to get them alone for the instant attraction and sex. Instead of creating chemistry, there’s just a lot of repetition of him thinking there was something between them, then her thinking there was something between them, and then sex, on what I think was within a day of rescue.

Cringe:
The story is clunky and made worse by the narration. All the men sound the same. The narrator has this weird cadence, like he’s bouncing up and down, and ends each sentence with a drop off or upswing.
And did I mention the cringe sex?
