The official novelization of the highly anticipated revamp of the classic horror film Halloween.
In 1978, Laurie Strode survived an encounter with Michael Myers, a masked figure who killed her friends and terrorized the town of Haddonfield, Illinois, on Halloween night. Myers was later gunned down, apprehended, and committed to Smith's Grove State Hospital.
For forty years, memories of that nightmarish ordeal have haunted Laurie and now Myers is back once again on Halloween, having escaped a routine transfer, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. This time, Laurie is prepared with years of survival training to protect herself, her daughter Karen and her granddaughter Allyson, a teenager separated from her family and enjoying Halloween festivities.

Satisfying
For the most part, I enjoyed the book. Eventhough I've seen the movie several times, I was still interested in reading the book. They always say books are better tha their movie counterparts. Not sure in this case. I was disappointed there wasn't more backstory for some of the characters such as Officer Hawkins, Dr. Sartain, etc. It would have been nice to had it filled in some of the gaps since that first dreadful Halloween night. Last, the narrator was a bit boring at times in her readings.

Good story
This was a good story, but the use of the words “the shape” 899 times was a little much. It would have been more connecting to the character if they just called him Micheal, or Meyers. The words “the shape” just made it weird.

better than the movie
performance was meh, but overall it was good.. I'm a huge Halloween fan and this gave me my fix.

Enjoyable!
I haven’t seen the movie this book is based on yet, however, it was well written and equally as well read! Having only a firm grip of the Halloween franchise this book did a good job in explaining the original back story to make this “reboot” enjoyable.

An upgrade from the film!
This improved upon the film by a mile. I enjoy the movie, but I was genuinely on the edge of my seat in the tense moments of this, even though I knew what was coming. A great adaptation that succeeds the film. I’ll be reading the entire trilogy.

Best book ever
If this book was made into a movie it would surpass all the Halloween franchise I pictured the book going like a movie and feeling everything
