Publisher's summary

HOPE: Heroes of Planet Earth Island Trilogy, spanning the first three books in the series: Black Hole, Ghost Beach, and Tiger’s Tattoo.
This whole thing started when Martin “Marty” Mayhew was forced to live on the oil rig known as the Black Hole, forced by his billionaire stepfather who owned it and believed he also owned Marty.
Marty, floated on his board, a 5’8” Wetworks Thruster shaped by Jacca Seco from Brazil, next to a tangle of corner steel. It was not every day a fifteen-year-old boy got to surf a quick, almost-perfect wave off the side of an oil rig. He looked up at the star-filled nighttime sky. The platform rig was ten stories high and lit up like a Houston used car lot, something he was familiar with having lived in the last five years in the Lone Star state.
He listened to the sea. He considered himself an expert in ocean listening. He had been surfing most of his life and he spent a lot of time in the water growing up in California before his mother, Beatrice, married Horace Clearwater, the aforementioned oil magnet, owner of United Petroleum and moved them both to Texas.
You spend a lot of time in the water, you hear things, he thought. There was a sound the ocean made for many different things and there was one the South Atlantic Ocean made, when it made a wave. Waves came in sets of threes or fours or tens or what-have-you, depending on the break and one was due here. He knew it was due because he heard it. The last set he had just missed rolled in five minutes ago. Three waves, twelve seconds apart, the third being the tallest and the one to catch.
He needed one quick enough to escape. That’s all that counted now because there was no talking his way out of this one. His stepbrother’s men were definitely after him and he knew it would only be a matter of heartbeats before they showed up, gunning for him.”
HOPE: Heroes of Planet Earth - The Island Trilogy embarks on a thrilling adventure as four teenagers from around the globe unite to combat a looming environmental disaster. Marty's summer vacation takes a dangerous turn when he witnesses an oil spill on the Black Hole oil rig off the coast of Brazil. After a harrowing escape on his surfboard through a shark-infested ocean, he reaches out to his friend, Italian climate activist Gabby Ferrari, for help. Together with Korean gamer Kaboom and local teen, Lucas, they risk everything to fight back and save an entire island from disaster.

The Island Trilogy offers a rollercoaster of adventure, excitement, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship.
