Makes you truly view Bears in a different light.

I am someone with no desire to interact with bears in anyway shape or form, considering them to be vicious beasts. By the end of this book so many of my preconceived ideas of bears, especially Grizzlies, had been changed entirely.

Fabulous information

I enjoyed listening to this story. It is filled with facts about encounters with brown bears. I learned about dogs that are helpful for grizzlies, places to see grizzlies in the wild and be educated about them. Great job educating people about the brown bear!

Educational and Entertaining

I learned a whole new appreciation for the mighty grizzly bear through this book.

Interdependency

The deeper aspects of our inter connectedness and dependents on bears, as well as our ability to communicate with them nonverbally.

Amazing summary of Bears!

What a great story of bears. Insights one can only gain by opening up their mind and embracing all aspects of the bear. Sad to hear about how poorly the USDA manages animals and the abuse they suffer at the hands of humans - surely there is a better way. What amazing stories of ranchers, hunters and conservationists working together to keep parts of America wild.

Excellent book. I learned a lot!!

Great book on helping us understand the nature of grizzly bears, and how our own actions can keep us safe in their backyard. I appreciate the time it and passion it took to bring this book to those of us who had no idea.... Thank you Mr. Grange!

Curiosity into knowledge

Bears are what my nightmares are about. I liked learning more about them and how the author faced his fears. Sounds like a great thing to do with any fear you may have.

My three dreams: author, paramedic, outdoors person. Kevin Grange does all three!

Author, paramedic, and outdoor and animal researcher. I’m a 19 year old college student and these are my three dreams. Kevin Grange actually does all three! That means I can do all three too!
I have re imagined the way I can live my life because of this book. I’ve changed my view on hunting and fishing and am now interested in learning how to ethically do both for food. I imagine my life with a garden and a dog like the Finnish bear dogs in this book (my family is quite proud of the strong and stoic Finnish people in our ancestry, and laugh at stories of family saunas and jumping in ice rivers) and a stocked back freezer full of smoked fish and venison. These are not things I have really dreamed of before. I’m and nursing student but after a few ambulance ride alongs this summer that’s what I want to do. And the book Wild rescues really pushed me in that direction because my sister works for the national parks and I have incredible respect for what she does.
The firefighters I met rotate making dinner for each other and I love the idea of being able to bring people food from the Pacific Northwest that will make them feel good and stronger. I have always dreamed of being an author my entire life but never dreamed of writing about my own experiences because I never thought they could be very interesting or worth reading. Maybe that should change.
I am also recently obsessed with bears from my teddy bear to the background of my computer to the coaster on my desk to this very book. Thanks for a great audiobook!
