About this listen

In the treacherous and uncertain era of war, a haunting secret propels Union spy Hattie Logan deeper into her clandestine work. As her feelings for Lieutenant John Elliott become increasingly entangled, she embarks on a resolute journey to prove her worth on her own terms.

Teamed up with former Confederate spy Mollie Pitman, Hattie challenges the authority of the men in charge, persistently cautioning against placing trust in Mollie. But as Hattie dares to peel back the layers of a perilous conspiracy aimed at hijacking a ferry and raiding a Lake Erie island prison, her own loyalties are tested in profound ways. The closer she inches towards the truth, the more the waters of certainty become clouded. How far is she willing to go to safeguard the trust of a steadfast friend?

Illuminated by mesmerizing history, this sweeping historical novel resonates with hope and resilience, leaving an indelible mark upon the depths of your heart.

The virtual voice that was used was horrible. There is no intonation o inflection to conversations. It was very difficult to determine who was talking and no distinguishing differences between a male and female’s voice.

The story was interesting, historically and involved women who were involved fighting for cause.
