Editorial reviews

Young Michael "Monster" Munroe’s schoolteacher has an annoying habit of keeping the classroom very dark. Fed up with his teacher, Michael makes the ill-advised move of breaking into her house. It’s also dark...and there’s a huge egg in her attic! Is Mrs. Hardesty even human??

Young audiences the world over know R. L. Stine as the master of chills and thrills for young people. This short audiobook, subtitled "My Friends Call Me Monster", gives the listener a spooky adventure, including a trip to HorrorLand and Panic Park. Filled with fun sound effects and musical accompaniment, the audiobook is performed with gusto and verve by Vinnie Penna.

Questionable story

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not really time well spent. The kid is a smart alec and disrespectful to his teacher. We got halfway through and wont finish it. She doesnt need that kind of example.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I didnt find the story interesting. We got to where they are trapped in the attic (the breaking and entering part) and we didnt finish it.

Could you see Goosebumps HorrorLand, Book 7 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

We have listened to a lot of goosebumps. This is the first we havent finished. The reason being the way the kids spoke to the adults and hatched a plan to break and enter a house and leave a cat. Felt bad for the cat that may or may not have been discovered and did not like that breaking and entering was being portrayed as cool.

no chapters

this book, like most of the Horrorland stories are pretty good. the performance was great. my only, and big, complaint is that the audio book was not broken up into actual chapters. this has 2 chapters. and they aren't even splitting the first story from the horroland story. it was a pain to stop at the end of a chapter. would not recomend this version.
