About this listen

As a boy he dreamed of being a spy undercover behind enemy lines. As a man he found himself undercover for God. Brother Andrew was his name, and for decades his life story, recounted in God's Smuggler, has awed and inspired millions.

This best seller tells of the young Dutch factory worker's incredible efforts to transport Bibles across closed borders - and the miraculous ways in which God provided for him every step of the way. Brother Andrew's story remains as inspiring today as it was 35 years ago, and with this new release, it will motivate a whole new generation to risk everything to follow God's call.

Critic reviews

"Tension builds page by pagae in this remarkable true document....more thrilling than a spy story with its numerous near escapes and mounting climaxes of danger." ( Los Angeles Times)

Enjoyed book again - 25 years later.

I read this book over 25 years ago and had forgotten how good it was. Great reminder of how life was behind the iron curtain.

Wow!

This is one of the most inspiring stories I've ever heard. I know this book has been around for a while but it is well worth the listen. What a testimony Brother Andrew has.
Highly recommended!

What a Big God we serve!

What a wonderful and inspiring story, not to mention challenging. Oh that we to would step out in believing faith in our Lord and Saviour. Narration was great, was not hard to understand.

Humbling Lessons on Trust

A friend recommended this book to me when I spoke of trying to learn to trust God more in my daily life. This book was very humbling as time and time again experiences in how God met needs was shared. I was challenged not only in how I approach my finances but in how I handle my prayer life and the time I spend with God daily. If you are a Christian you cannot go wrong in using a credit for this book.

Amazing ordinary life

The story was amazing, I was captivated all the way through. It is a story about making your ordinary life extraordinary, and Simon Vance makes Brother Andrew familiar and trustworthy, as a well known father figure. The book coincided so much with my own life, (except for the timetable), many of Andrews revelations about himself and his life with God fitted perfectly into my own state of life. It will not be the last time I listen to this book.

Incredible story! Incredible narrator! Incredible Brother Andrew!

Wow, what an incredible book. I’ve seen it atop so many recommended book lists. And now I can see why. I knew absolutely nothing about this book beforehand except for its high recommendations. Narrator Simon Vance is one of my favorites. Between him and the inimitable person of Brother Andrew, the story pulls one in immediately. What an excellent use of six hours of one’s time. And the best news is that the story continues by following Open Doors on their various social media platforms.
