About this listen

When Winston Churchill was a boy of 16, he already had a vision for his purpose in life. "This country will be subjected somehow to a tremendous invasion...I shall be in command of the defenses of London...it will fall to me to save the Capital, to save the Empire." It was a most unlikely prediction. Perceived as a failure for much of his life, Churchill was the last person anyone would have expected to rise to national prominence as prime minister and influence the fate of the world during World War II. But Churchill persevered, on a mission to achieve his purpose.

God and Churchill tells the remarkable story of how one man, armed with belief in his divine destiny, embarked on a course to save Christian civilization when Adolf Hitler and the forces of evil stood opposed. It traces the personal, political, and spiritual path of one of history's greatest leaders and offers hope for our own violent and troubled times.

I was not disappointed, the writer was well informed, had a family connection to Winston and could explain in a clear and believable way the relationship between God and Churchill. I learnt allot about the man and his simple yet profound understanding of God while I also learnt about Churchill's struggles, his personal and professional life. Great book.

Excellent

Winston Churchill was a remarkable man. however more remarkable then the Man is the inability of historians to peer behind the curtain to explain the performance of that man. This book does it. Zachariah chapter 4 of the Bible reads do not despise the day of small things. This Magnificent work illuminates the small things that we're done by The Nanny of Winston Churchill. The things that shaped his life and opened his eyes to his destiny. Proverbs 29 records without a vision the people perish. Winston Churchill was consumed by his destiny. A destiny which he proclaimed derived from Providence itself.

at last a study of the power behind the man

The author was forthright and truthful. Churchill did have Judeo-Christian values but he wasn't necessarily religious. I have listened to the Last Lion and read the second book after the Last Lion. Plus, I have read several works of Churchill about WWII and many of the things mentioned in this book I had not heard before.

This book expands on Churchill and God!

Very historically insightful. This is not an overly spiritualized biography. This is a reasoned appraisal of how God used an imperfect man to spare the world a devilish destiny. I very much enjoyed this book. There's a great deal of encouraging practical info here too.

Just excellent
