Acerca de esta escucha

Just like we do today, the writers and chief actors of the Old Testament felt a deep longing for the presence of God. It is symbolized in the temple ruins, and before it the temple itself, and before that the ark of the covenant and the tabernacle that housed it, and before that the Garden of Eden. In response to this longing, God shares his ultimate mission, in which his people play a part: the expansion of Eden, the temple of God's presence, to all peoples throughout the earth. The temple has always been a source of rich scholarship and theological reflection, but what does it mean for the church's ongoing mission in the world? G. K. Beale and Mitchell Kim take temple theology off the bookshelf and bring it to our modern-day life, where the church is instructed and exhorted in its purpose. From Eden to the new Jerusalem, we are God's temple on the earth in our day, the first fruits of the new creation. God has always desired to dwell among us; now the church must follow its missional call to extend the borders of God's kingdom and take his presence to the ends of the earth.

This is a wonderful Bible study that takes you through the Old Testament and the New Testament, explaining how they explain each other. The only problem with the audio version is the references are stated as chapter and verse. This is not a one time read.

Good read, but read somewhat slowly and with emphasis in some strange parts of sentences

When you put on Beale & Kim's glasses, and see the Bible through the lens of God's ever expanding tabernacling presence, so many passages take on a weight and beauty unnoticed before. This book is a good summary of Beale's work on the temple. Because of the nature of the book it goes at a break neck pace. You will find yourself needing to pause and digest, or look up the references which are fired at you with frequency and speed.

This book has excellent content.

The narrator’s style however does not fit the material. His delivery is distracting and unpleasant. The technique comes off insincere.

The motivation to live for Christ is a convicting knowledge by the Holy Spirit of how much the Father has loved us in CHrist. God is orchestrating all events in accordance to His Plan and Providence from the very beginning in Eden to consummation in the New Jerusalem. Our Job is to fulfill the Great Commission so that ALL Israel will be saved. This book is an encouragement to Walk Worthy, to use the Gifts he has given us for his glory, To be Imitators, to Walk in Love, Light and Wisely. It gives us a Biblical Theological perspective to see from the beginning to the end God has a plan, He directs all evens according to his Plan, and in the end everything will end according to plan- Soli Deo Gloria.

Beale, as he so often does, beautifully captures and expounds biblical truth. He skillfully pulls together many threads of scripture. What an uplifting book.

Only critique is the performance. The narration is much too quiet at times and I had to crank up the volume significantly more so than I usually do.

From the Garden to Holy Sites to the Tabernacle and Temple, finally to Jesus and the Church, this book traces the cohesive nature of God’s dwelling place past, present, and future through Scripture. It offers some application at the end, but it is more academic than pastoral.

This book has the ability to take difficult passages and clearly interpret them with scripture. There’s no hypothetical opinion simply scripture.

The book provided an extensive view of the temple as seen from Genesis beginning with the Eden Temple to Jesus Christ the true temple, and closing with the end-time temple. Also, it was very through and provided scriptures to validated their themes regarding the temple.

God's continuous temple
