Giovanni's Ring is the story of "Giovanni Rocco," a New Jersey police officer, known undercover as "Giovanni Gatto," who was the mysterious agent at the epicenter of Operation Charlie Horse, a federal undercover operation that ultimately brought down ten members and associates of New Jersey's DeCavalcante Mafia family, the criminal organization known as "the real Sopranos."
Giovanni spent nearly three years working his way into the DeCavalcante hierarchy. That lethal assignment brought the undercover operation to an end in March 2015, and the resulting string of high-profile arrests eviscerated the criminal organization.
Giovanni's Ring is not simply a chronicle of Giovanni Rocco's adventures in the murky and dangerous Mafia world he inhabited, but also a fascinating window into the psychological struggles that such a life inevitably entails.

Donnie Brasco 2.0
I got through this one very quickly, which is a sign of a good one. I hoped it would tell us more about the crime family itself but this focused more on just his capo and the people under him, which is fine. Still a good addition for any mob reader because this one is recent.

What a great listen!
I listened to this book in one day.
I found myself laughing at times, it was as if I were right there.
This true story should definitely be a movie one day soon.

This book is incredible! I would recommend it 10 out of 10! This book dives deep into being an undercover agent and talking down the mafia! This book really gives you the perspective on what it takes to be an undercover agent and the challenges they face.

I listened to part of his story on true fbi stories and had to come check it out. Did not disappoint! Wonderful story! Bs they didn’t take better care of his family after it was all over. Putting in years and years with no security after. Bullshit. Do better fbi!

Powerful story
The psychological effect and the life-changing aftermath of UC work is all too often silenced. Incredible story. Here’s to hoping you get to train the future agents , detectives, and TFOs.

good read
it was a good book kept my attention all the way threw it was good to hear ot from a undercover cops point of view and how he really built relationships with some of these guys and how much it hurt him at the end of investigation to hear his honest feelings.
