About this listen

Stevie here, reporting to you live from Ebenezer Falls, Washington, with my disaster of a day.

Yes, that's right. I'm having a terrible day. The worst. It started off like any other day, with the exception of Win's strange behavior, that is. But it's all gone downhill from there and I have questions. So many questions....

For instance, why is everyone else in Eb Falls behaving as strangely as my International Man of Mystery? And who the heck is Donna? For that matter, who's Candy Cane and why does she have snow? Who's the blonde picking up Win in our driveway? And was that an Aston Martin I just saw drive by?

What the heck is going on?

I set out to have a perfectly nice day after a long summer filled with tourists and readings at Madame Zoltar's shop. Since we'd had so little time to spend together these last few weeks, I was feeling a little left behind while Win was off on a guy's day of his own, but a much-needed spa-day should have cured that. Or at least I thought it would.

That was before everything turned upside down, Win became almost unreachable by phone or text, and the words blackmail, drugs, and extortion were bandied about....

Contains mature themes.

I love the characters. However, I did NOT appreciate the way that Stevie arrived back at her house. It wasn't the least bit funny, and as someone who has worked in salons, it was actually more than a little bit hazardous to her health and looks. And it could have so easily ended in tragedy. I hope this isn't the last book in the series, but I also hope that the books get longer. There were so many details left out of this story, and left out of the last several installments. And loose ends enough to quilt a comforter for my queen sized bed!

I enjoyed parts of the story

Storyline was great (somewhat predictable) but was fun. Can’t wait for the next books to listen to.

Great storyline

This is a story told in one single day. Stevie starts out declaring ’I Love Win’, but they’ve been drifting apart for the last few weeks. Win is spending all his time with the Garden Club and taking secret phone calls.
So, today Win takes Bel and Arkady with him on his boy’s lunch with Dana. Everyone - the whole town - is acting off! Nothing is making sense.
It isn’t until the end of the day that Stevie finds out what’s going on.
Still nothing sexier than a single kiss between Stevie and Win.
Jackson does a very decent job with narration.

a day of oddities

Talk about getting your wires switched…Stevie put together some “clues” about why Win and the town are acting strangely. It’s hysterically bad‼️She tossed around ideas like drugs, ransom, insanity etc… She couldn’t have been more wrong they all had a secret that couldn’t be told until Stevie and Win get together.

Fun hilarity in romance

This should have been half priced based upon its length. Reminded me of an episode of I Love Lucy, and not a good one. All the missteps by Stevie, and yet in the end the author has the audacity to criticize "men" for having bad ideas regarding the very obvious proposal. Its time to get down off the feminist high horse!

Too short for full price...
