Worst reader ever.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The computer-generated voice on my e-reader gives a smoother presentation and adds more inflection than this reader. He does not appear to understand the concept of phrasing, because it sounds like he takes a breath in between each word. It was so bad I could not finish what might have been an interesting book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The book has a lot of interesting information, but buy the book, do not buy the audiobook.

Garbage

Is it a good book? There is no way to tell. The reader is simply not competent for this job. He sounds out all words of 3+ syllables like a 7 yr old. He never gets the hang of the word Italy even after reading it 20 times. I have great patience but just found its limit

Very good history of Germany

Manages to give an in depth perspective in a manageable length of an overview of the events that shaped the German people. I liked the narrator’s style. Impersonal, flowing, allows one to focus on the content, with authentic pronunciation of German words.
