About this listen

The war carries on, spiraling out of control....

Savage fighting rages from one end of the bay to the other as the still-dangerous Corsairs splinter into factions, each battling to see who will end up in ultimate control.

Trapped in the middle of the bay on a little nub of an island, Jenn Lockhart and her shattered defenders can only watch helplessly, knowing full well that they will be the eventual prize. Their men will be murdered, their wounded thrown into the bay to drown, and their women brutally raped before being sold into slavery.

And Jenn can do nothing. The battle has left them fearfully low on ammunition, and they have no way to cross the zombie-infested waters.

Only Jillybean’s return gives them any hope - and yet this is the same woman who started the war in the first place. She is the reason for the bloated corpses, piled like old trash, and for the tears of the grieving and for the blood running like rivers into the bay.

For the sake of the community, Mike, Stu, and Jenn keep this a secret, but when the secret gets out, Jenn is forced to arrest Jillybean and become Queen in her place. Her first responsibility is to execute the woman she once loved.

A great third book

I love the narration the character voices carry over from the first two books, they are clear and distinct. The pace and tone of the narration match the actions and tone of the book. It was lovely to listen to.

This book picks up almost exactly as book two ends. There's a lot of action and intrigue happening. As always I am amazed by Jelly Beans ability to create weapons and other useful items out of items that seem to be of little use at first glance.

The book covers a short period of time, however the characters still managed to change and grow as they experience unusual circumstances and are forced to grow up very quickly.

I'm not sure what I was expecting from a story, but the direction it went in left me quite surprised. The ending in particular left me slightly stunned and amazed.

The whole series has been thrilling to listen to you and I highly recommend it.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Cliffhanger ending!

As usual,Meredith does not disappoint. Having read the 1st 10 Apocalypse books I found the battle scene a bit repetitive. Brian Callahan is a terrific narrator I was a huge Basil Sands fan, but Brian is fantastic as well. The ending leaves me loading the 4th books ASAP!!

What's expected from an amazing writer.

An amazing continuation of the story so far. Exactly what you'd expect from the series, however I would prefer a little more action, similar to the precursor series.

Fantastic

I enjoyed Jillian’s new approach on being Queen. It was incredibly refreshing and liberating so see order and swift action when it was needed. Unfortunately it doesn’t last long, a trend I usually always see with these stories. I can’t wait to listen to the next chapter.

Crazy good🤯!

I’m enjoying this book the crazier and more in depth of multiple personality disorder it gets.

Please, PLEASE stop with Jellybean!

I'll start by saying I love Peter Meredith's writing, but with 2 hours left I gave up and skipped to the end of this one. It's not THIS book in peticular but the combination of the last 8+ Apocalypse/Gen Z novels, all of which are filled to the brim with this single, totally unbelievable character. I started this series because I enjoy the author and didn't realize he actually brought Jillybean over from the Apocalypse survivor novels, but unfortunately she infected this series too. Also Unfortunately for me I'm that guy who, at least up until now, sticks with a series until the end, but I just can't do it anymore.

Mr. Meredith I love ya man, but please enough with Jillybean already!

P.S - If you like Jillybean or at the very least she doesn't bother you then by all means get this book.
