The real stories behind the scenery of America’s national parks. For 12 years, Andrea Lankford lived in the biggest, most impressive national parks in the world, working a job she loved. She chaperoned baby sea turtles on their journey to sea. She pursued bad guys on her galloping patrol horse. She jumped into rescue helicopters bound for the heart of the Grand Canyon. She won arguments with bears. She slept with a few too many rattlesnakes. Hell yeah, it was the best job in the world! Fortunately, Andrea survived it.

Story
The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

Story
For 30 years, drummer, author, and songwriter Neil Peart had wanted to write a book about "the biggest journey of all in my restless existence: the life of a touring musician." Finally, the right time, and the right tour. In the summer of 2004, after three decades, 20 gold albums, and thousands of performances, the band Rush embarked on a 30th Anniversary World Tour. The "R30" tour traveled to nine countries, where the band performed 57 shows for more than half a million fans. Uniquely, Peart chose to do his between-show traveling by motorcycle, riding 21,000 miles of back roads.

This was great for planning my Hawaii trip!
I decided that I wanted to take a trip to Hawaii for my 50th birthday, but I've never been so I found this audiobook and it helped me a ton! First, I like that the author makes the experience more personal by discussing their experience with these locations in the beginning of the book. It makes you feel like a good friend is sharing the ins and outs of these locations, and it makes it feel more personal. They cover some of the more common things you would want to do there, but also a number of things that I had never heard of before. I feel like, no matter what it is you enjoy doing, it's all covered in these guides. Personally, I feel a lot more confident with my planning after having listened to this. If you're going to be visiting one of these locations, I highly recommend you review this program before you make your final plans. I think you'll be happy you did.

Let's go to Hawaii!
So much to enjoy on these two islands!
These are an excellent pair of guidebooks. It made me want to get on a plane and enjoy the beauty. I could practically taste the fresh fish and pineapple and see the turtles splashing in the surf. I have been to The Big Island, but this book gave me several new things I want to do the next time I have the opportunity to visit this paradise in the USA. I loved the recommendations for restaurants and how to use your days there. Most people have a week or maybe two, so this book can help you get the most out of however many days you have to enjoy The Big Island. I have also visited Oahu, but it was on a business trip that was rather rushed, I now have a whole raft of things I want to experience, thanks to these fabulous guidebooks. You will want to pick these up if you are headed to Hawaii
