About this listen

Sawyer Stephenson struggled with his faith in the past. Angry with God for not providing for the people in his small town, he chose to steal from the rich to help those in need. Sentenced to jail time, the pastor who strayed from the path realizes that God may be giving him a second chance when he is offered the opportunity to participate in a program that seems almost too good to be true.

Gabriella Emerson is tired of being looked down on by other women. If she had to choose, she would have never chosen the life of a saloon girl - but desperation had a way of making you do things you'd later regret. After inheriting a daughter from one of the other barmaid's she worked with, Gabriella is determined to start fresh, so that the child will not be doomed to follow down the same path. Gabriella moves to Mucksbe, Texas and signs up to become a Freedom Bride in order to provide for her young charge.

Can two very different people find a second chance, or are they doomed to be defined as saint and sinner?

Cutie love story

Very cute love story of two people who want second chances at a good life. In the end they get everything they could ever want, a second chance, someone to love and children.

A Quick Listen

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. This was another of the freedom brides books. A preacher was thrown in prison because he was trying to help the homeless and the robber baron of the town said he was stealing from him. the bride is forced to be a salon girl after running from uncles who raped her after her parents died. She also has her est friend;s daughter. They are a good match. The story was heartwarming. The narration was good as well. A feel good story that will make you wonder why a program like this is not truly implemented in real life. Why prison does not try to reform people and why society continues to punish people after they have served their time.

Great Novella - Perfect To Try Susette Williams

The summary is very descriptive especially for such a short book, so I don't feel that I can add anything to it without spoiling it for you.

I enjoyed the story, it is a historical romance set out west. Again, Susette Williams has achieved her goal; a very short novella for the person on the go, without much free time.

Allyson Voller's narration was very good, as well.

I highly recommend anything by Susette Williams for any audience. She is a gifted writer with the ability to put so much detail into such a short (one – two hours).

I really hope that someday she take the time or has the time and ability to write some full length novels.

Notes: Family-friendly, Christian romance
Above average read, it is very good.

Short Christian historical romance

This novella is super short. It is a story based on a made up program that matches women needing husbands with men who agree to marry in order to be released from prison. Gabriella was a saloon girl who's best friend took off and left her daughter with Gabriella. She is looking for a better life for the little girl.
Sawyer's offense was losing his temper and striking someone. He is a preacher who's minor offense landed him in jail. A saloon girl isn't exactly the best choice for the wife of a preacher, but they are determined to make it work. They both have concessions to make. Can it be a real marriage?
The narration by Allyson Voller was very good.
