About this listen

Can time truly heal a broken heart, or are Lady Cora and Lord Mathew destined to relive their bittersweet past?

Lady Cora has been in love with Lord Mathew, Earl of Banner, since they were children but circumstances made it impossible for them to marry. Heartbroken, she married Lord Darby and moved to India. After her husband’s tragic death, she discovers her true calling and returns to England to become a nurse. Lady Cora is given the rare opportunity to become one of the first female doctors in England, but she’ll never forget her first love.

Lord Mathew, Earl of Banner, returns to Banner House, where Lady Cora is tending to his ailing mother. Although thirteen years have passed since they went their separate ways, Lady Cora has never been far from his mind. The attraction between them still sizzles, but old hurts still linger.

I loved the characters and story .

The storyline including our heroine becoming a doctor was most delightful. Made me think of Outlander.
I’ll be watching for more stories from this most gifted author and story teller.
