Acerca de esta escucha

"A girl jumped off the motel's roof. Five minutes ago."

"Give it to me straight. Does the girl have anything to do with us? I mean, with the campaign? The presidential candidate?"

"It's your job, Fletch, to make damned sure she didn't."

When Fletch arrives as the new press representative for Governor Caxton Wheeler's presidential campaign, he isn't sure which mystery to solve first - what his new job actually is, or why the campaign has been leaving dead women in its tracks.

He finds himself on the other side of the press, a human shield, deflecting the same questions he is asking himself. Are the murders just coincidence, or is a coldhearted killer looking for a job in the White House?

When the campaign shifts into high gear, Fletch's skills are working overtime in a desperate bid of his own to find the killer and to make sure the governor doesn't lose any more votes.

Enjoyable Fletch doing his best to meet the number of words quota. But seriously, get it. It’s good.

Good listen

A fun, fast Fletch read. The humorous and snappy writing readers expect from McDonald. A quick summer-listen.

I am really starting to enjoy these FLETCH stories. They are all uniquely different and really entertaining.

Worth the listen

I’d never know all that stuff. Fletch can conform to any situation. What he doesn’t know one sentence he’s figured out by the next.

So Much Information

The best book of the series, In my opinion! Great characters, and not as dialog heavy as some of the other books.

Very entertaining!

Unlike the other Fletch books, this one has little mystery at all. No suspense. It was a foot note. The other volumes I’ve read are much better!! The Fletch series is good but skip the Man Who

The Mystery is not mysterious

i have enjoyed this series so far, but this one written in 1983, makes it obvious the author was not a fan of Reagan. Reagan went on to win 49 out of 50 states the following year. I prefer that authors write about fictitious characters when the observations are not material to the story, plus the story was a bit lame,

Politics do not make a good mystery.

This is much better than the Moxie book because, well, no Moxie. So annoying.
The narration is less annoying here as well, and allows Fletch's dry humor to come through. I dislike the man's voice for women.

Again Flynn is mentioned. I'm sad, not sad that there's no Flynn. Sad because I like him better than Fletch, not sad because the narration of Flynn's voice is so disappointing. The narration in the actual Flynn books is tremendous, and this here is a real let down.

The first 2 were much better

The plot gets quite grim but the quality of the plotting and writing is undiminished Still entertaining and well narrated.

Darker than usual

Fletch is a little more establishment on this book. His Lieutenant from Vietnam recruits him to be the press secretary for his father, a presidential candidate. The campaign is plagued by the murder of several young women. Fletch feels compelled to figure out who the murderer is. The press corps is a true group of characters.
