Acerca de esta escucha
A year since Elizabeth and Mr Darcy married, their love remains strong, but the two of them have found it uneasy about adjusting to the new dynamics of marriage. Although no longer as judgmental as she used to be, Elizabeth still has strong-willed tendencies and holds onto her ideals. Mr Darcy has to travel more to solve estate matters.
The Napoleonic Wars made the economy nearly unbearable for all classes of people. The rich are no exception to this. Coupled with the Napoleonic war, Britain was also at war with the United States. The tension in the country also made life unbearable for the rich and the middle class.
Reading a letter from Longbourn, Elizabeth discovers that things are very difficult for her parents and sisters. Her two younger sisters are still unmarried, and the pressure is harder on their father. With the economic problems, catering to the house's maids and servants was increasingly complex, so they had to let go of most of them.
Lydia was back home with her parents, and compared to her previous immature behaviour, she had matured much more. Mr Wickham was fighting in the war, and with the time's hardship, the money used to bribe him once was not enough to sustain them, although Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley support their fathers-in-law.
To add more angst, Mrs Reynold became too old and weak at Pemberley to continue her service.
These are the clouds. Now the good news is –
All ingredients for a satisfying and entertaining romantic story are present, offering the readers a warm and sweet Pride and Prejudice sequel novel. Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam Darcy will struggle for their love and happiness and find solutions to drive away the fleeting clouds from their lives.
Note The updated edition improves the former, clarifies a few scenes, and has more extensive editing. This story’s angst is just right for the plotline to be fully developed and appropriate for all audiences.
