Striking and heartfelt story of grit and what it took to colonize America

This book belongs in the American History curriculums in our schools. It is very well researched and gives a refreshing new perspective on life in the early days of Jamestown. Anne is worthy of attention, too. The author presents her in an authentic way that gets you hooked on the adventure she gets thrown into. Loved the book!

Educational and interesting

I really enjoyed the story of Anne Burras and love that this book is based on her life. It’s crazy to imagine all the hardships the early settlers had to go through and how they were nearly wiped out by starvation, sickness and war. It makes me grateful for the life I have today.
