It's taken Tommy Newsome a while to get his head around being gay.

Growing up in a small town in Georgia hasn't prepared him for the more liberal life of a student at the university in Athens. Add to that the teachings of his parents and his church, and you have one shy young man who feels out of his depth. When Mike's not behind the bar at Woofs, he's busy with his life as adult entertainer Scott Masters. Twenty years in the industry and the times, they are a-changing. Mike's not had much luck in the relationship department, but as his mom is fond of telling him, you keep fishing in the same pond, you're gonna reel in the same kind of fish. Maybe it's time for a change.

And then a beautiful young man asks Mike to be his first....

loved reading this book and it was brought to life on audio. Gregory Salinas did an outstanding job...

It was good. But something was missing.

There was just something about this one that kept me from loving it...
Mike is 40 years old, a part time bartender/part time porn star, and in desperate need of a change. He's lonely, and as his mother says, if he wants to catch a man, he'd better start fishing in a different pond.
Tommy, literally fresh off the farm. Equal mix of wise and naive.
Tommy doesn't know about the porn, and Mike doesn't know that Tommy is actually nineteen, not twenty-one.
I just didn't warm up to Mike because he couldn't pull his head out of his ass without the coaching of his friends. Tommy was too naive and ignorant for this day in time, especially for a student at a large university.
I like K.C.’s stories. Unfortunately, this is not her best work! The British author totally messed up by having the characters talk with hick southern accents. People from Georgia and Atlanta don't talk like that. She described Atlanta with the flavor of a small country town when it is actually a large sophisticated city!

Mixed feelings

I liked the story. The execution was a bit lacking. I’m not sure at whose feet to land that complaint.

The narration of this book, while it did have some shining moments, was overall mediocre, often feeling stilted and mechanical. Both writing and narration felt like new artists who hadn’t yet honed their respective crafts.

Since I listened and did not read with my eyes, I am unsure if some of the oddities that jumped out at me were narration errors or the writer’s mistakes not caught by editing, proofreading, and beta readers.

This narrator was new to me. This recording was several years back. I don’t know if he improved his skills over time. He definitely had potential to do so. His performance really drew me in during several emotional or intense scenes.

Bottom line, this audiobook is not as polished as other KC Wells titles I’ve read or listened to. The story is good, but know going in, you’ll need to grade it on a curve while you listen.

Innocence, love, and found family

This is a beautifully written, and well titled, age gap story about Tommy, a college student who has recently discovered his sexuality, and Mike, a porn star and weekend bartender. I love Tommy's innocence and integrity, and his determination to get Mike to notice him by coming into the bar when Mike works. Tommy has a falling out with his family as they don't accept him and want to change him, but Tommy's friend's family takes him in. I love Tommy and Mike together. I love how they work through their problems and not give up on each other.
Narrator Gregory Salinas does a fabulous job.

Slow but good

A little slow moving but good, great characters who are human and a little backwards and stupid at times.

Excellent Romance!!

Sweet story, with unique challenges that drew out the MC's beautifully. Very interesting plot lines, with plenty of caring, passionate love making to please this listener.

Thoroughly enjoyed the narration, who was a new person to me. I will definitely check out other books featuring these two!

define irony

overall I am enjoying both the story and the narration. I do find it incredibly ironic that the cover model for the character Mike in addition to being a model, is also an adult film star in real life 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

this story was sweet and everything I wanted it to be. the characters were awesome, the nareation was good and the steamy scenes were plentiful. I would listen again in the future.

Best book I ever listen

It is very interesting to find that in a way I can share part the story as part of my own life, thank you for this wonderful book, I love it is just simple EPIC.
