I loved it!

I loved this audiobook! I loved it before when I read it in both eBook and Paperback format, but it was so nice to be able to be on my exercise bike, do dishes, and clean the house while listening to the author read her own book. It was great!

New Favorite

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely! The story is amazing, the setting is awesome, and the characters are fantastic! Having it in audio means I can relive it even when I can't pick up my print copy--bonus!

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are absolutely the best part of the book, although I can't think of any major weaknesses. They're read in a way that lets you distinguish one from another without being over-the-top. (And at the risk of sounding way too invested in this series--I hadn't stopped long enough to place an Austrian accent before I started the audiobook. Previously, my heart was a ball of mush; now, it's a puddle on the floor. <3)

Have you listened to any of J. Grace Pennington’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first of her audiobooks, but I'd love to hear her record more of this series! Then again, I want her to write more of the series...maybe she could find a way to clone herself? With all the sci-fi tech lying around, how hard could it be? ;)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

My favorite moments involve some pretty big spoilers--let's just say that I love seeing a certain relationship progress through the book (and no, it's not romantic).

Any additional comments?

Buy the book; buy the audiobook; buy the series! I can't promise you won't regret it, but I don't see any reason why you should. :D

One of my favorites!

Age Appropriate For: All Ages
Best for Ages: 10 and up (mild violence)

The book has the setting of Star Trek, the drama of Star Wars, and a huge dose of originality from Pennington. I cannot wait to get the next book.

I haven’t read a lot of sci-fi. I am just very picky about my sci-fi. Most of the sci-fi written is not God-honoring and is pretty bizarre. However, ever since I heard about Firmament by J. Grace Pennington, I have wanted to read it. I picked up a copy for my Kindle on sale. I would be willing to pay full price for this story. Yes, it was that good.

Andi was awesome! Normally, I hate girl characters with boy names. However, Andi was too likable to hate. She was very feminine, which made up for her name in my opinion. Pennington created a deep and relatable character when she created Andi. I cannot wait to see Andi in the books to come.

The setting was pretty awesome. I like watching the original Star Trek series and the Surveyor felt a little like the Enterprise. However, before you start thinking “Oh great, a Christian Star Trek, this story is very original. J. Grace Pennington has a lot of talent, and it shines in this book.

There are a lot of unexpected twists and turns that kept me up way past when I needed to be asleep. Firmament: Radialloy definitely kept me reading to the last page and made me very eager for the next book.

I highly recommend this book for sci-fi and/or adventure lovers, and for those who enjoy well-told stories.

Interesting premise

This book ticks several sci fi boxes - spaceships, medical advances - as well as good adventure boxes - pirates, villains and heroes.

It is a bit juvenile in places, straying towards young adult. Otherwise though, it is entertaining. The story is well told, and the narrator well suited to the book and easy to listen to.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.
