Second book in a trilogy...

of the story of Hernando de Soto's invasion of what became the American Southeast, from the view of the Native peoples. This book chronicles the journey up through Georgia & back down into Alabama. Several small groups join Black Shell & Pearl Hand to stop the army, with horrible losses. They believe they stand a chance to beat de Soto once they reach the large, rich nation of Cofitachequi. Their hopes are dashed, first by the prior devastation of the nation due to small pox, then by the treachery of a young woman, second in line to rule. The ruling members of their next hope, the nation of Coosa, refuse to fight. Instead, they send a man from their ruling council plus a group of warriors on to the next nation to request a collaboration to fight him together. This installment ends after this battle. Once again, the Gear's have produced an informative, shall I say educational, book of American History which we have not been taught in modern Americsn schools. Yes, this book is fiction, but it has enough true history behind it to enlighten us to what actually happened. I live smack dab in the area of the Coosa nation & all I knew was that de Soto came through looking for gold. Period. I thank the Gears for filling in the blanks. Another masterpiece from their collaboration.

Bad acting

the acting is horrible. the word pronunciation is really bad. I can't understand the Spanish words the reader tries to pronounce. the story meanders aimlessly. I skipped to the end just to clear it from my reading list.
