The story was great.

SL Scott is an incredible writer. I have loved everything I’ve listened to. Unfortunately poor narration can have a negative impact on the experience. The male narrator in this particular book was not good. He has good potential but as of this book he still needs to hone his craft. That being said I would not let that prevent me from listening to this book. It is really good.

EXCELLENT BOOK, Male narrator ruined it

I rarely ever leave a negative review… I usually just move on from it and go to my next listen…

I want to preface this by saying that this author is an automatic one-click for me… Every single book is amazing! However, the male narrator of this book almost made me not finish it. His voice was so monotone with zero inflection, that it was truly painful to listen to. I only finished this book because of the great writing! However, in the future, I will not purchase any more books narrated by this male… the female narrator was amazing and I could not wait to get to her chapters each time the male was narrating… Unfortunately, he narrated a bit more than she did…

When I listen to books, the narrators are nonnegotiable to me… If they are difficult to listen to, I will not purchase it or listen to it…
