Better for younger guys.

This was a cute story, but I feel like it is better suited to younger listeners.

Excellent romance for anyone who has had a teenage crush.

A wonderful story that speaks to anyone who had had a crush as a teenager. It even lets people who never got to kiss another boy at 13 to see an alternate way first crushes could have turned out. A very sweet story of the emotions of being gay or queer and the feelings of being a teenage boy playing jokes and just goofing around with others not all of whom are even gay or questioning.

Cute! Current!

I'm so glad Mark is an author. Thank you Mark for mentioning Mercedes Lackey's book. I've read her whole Valdemar series, she's an incredible author… as are you!

So-oh-oh-oh CUTE!

This is a short listen about two young men at summer camp who spend their time competing for the affections of a third young man while fighting and playing pranks on one another. Utterly charming (!) with good lessons for all embedded within. Very innocent and charming. I had a great time listening to all their antics! I loved the narrator as well. He has a great voice and delightfully breathes a lot of life energy into Curtis, the main character. You may be hard pressed to find a more innocent and charming portrayal of young gay men trying to navigate their way through adolescence. A GREAT listen!!

great story

loved it but it could have been a lot longer an more details. could have gone into how the two competing for the boys affection when they found out it was a ploy, how they hooked up an how they fell for each other.

Narrator mars this sweet story

Cute story. I had figured out the "secret" fairly early on in the book, but I like the way the author handled the revelation. I wish this were the world that I grew up in (or if stories like this even existed in my youth), but it's good to see these stories imagined for today's youth. I had a problem with the cadence of the narrator. It sounded like he had been slowed down or had the endings of the sentences artificially stretched out. It was better when I adjusted the listening speed, but still made it difficult to listen to at times.

Silly and cute

A silly little quick listen with juvenile giggles and a longing for a world that never existed for most of us

always the same

I do enjoy Marks stories but he gets a little unrealistic when it comes to forgiveness, I understand hes trying to send a message some of the situations he puts his characters in, and the hurt that's inflicted on them and they just constantly turn around and say "Oh its ok you destroyed me I still love you" and he kinda gets the message across that your supposed to just let people walk all over you.
