About this listen

Lilac Nielsen's dream has come true: handsome young Reverend Ethan Pritchard has finally noticed her. Yet she must balance this new courtship with the pursuit of another dream—the publication of her artwork in a New York paper. She has secretly been submitting a series of drawings under a pen name, and if anyone traces the drawings back to her, the entire Nielsen family could be put in danger.

As their family farm expands and Lilac's relationship with the reverend grows, it's a time of new beginnings. But when a family crisis back in Ohio shakes the Nielsen sisters, can they continue to build the new life they've begun in Nebraska? And will Lilac be prepared for what God has in store for her future?

Bestselling author Lauraine Snelling invites you back to Salton, Nebraska, where friendship and romance blossom.

Good one, to be sure!

I think about how hard the sisters worked. Dawn to dusk. Together they built their dreams, shed tears and grew stronger. Then I think about our world today and it seems the striving is only for an easier, fun filled life. No time to help one another. To share burdens. To share joys. Our focus is on ourselves. How did this happen? I wonder?
I enjoyed Ms. Moore's narration. She really brings the characters to life.
What does the future hold for the two remaining sisters? Ill be waiting...

Such a great series

Love listening to the stories of life. Hard working families pulling together in good times and bad. Love the narrator putting the words into video in our heads.

Can’t end that way really!

Kidding me truly. Seriously there is too much left to tell. There has to be more. Please don’t leave me hanging like this. Honestly you really need to consider more to this series.

Book 3 Leah's Garden Fields of Bounty

This was another special book of Lauraine Snelling. Do wish more of her series would continue. I see there are some Novels to look into. I have completed all the series that I am able to find,
She always come through with a story that has the historical and family life of the period when the state of Nebraska and the capital of Lincoln is discussed. 1869,
The four sisters with all flower names, all have a story to share in this book. There could have been a book 4 or more. There was a twist at the end I did not see coming but I guess it was for the best,
