One year after a random shooting changed their family forever, Nora and her father are exploring a slot canyon deep in the Arizona desert, hoping it will help them find peace. Nora longs for things to go back to normal, like they were when her mother was still alive, while her father keeps them isolated in fear of other people. Great characters!
This was a refreshing take on two lifelong friends coming to middle school who don’t allow their growing differences to break them apart, but instead lean on each other even more like true brothers to overcome their life problems. Very well done!

Good messages, unrealistic -coding geek becomes star baker in a few short weeks
I did like the persistence of Mario. It goes with the saying about hard work makes the difference when talent doesn’t work hard. But a noob getting not only a spot on the team out doing two older grades of kids and then the team making the playoffs. That was way unrealistic.
