About this listen

There is one thing Halek Cain never does: leave a friend behind. There's no way he’s abandoning an entire unit.

His newest allies, the JFT Destroyers, are cornered in a star system already ravaged by war. Problem is, Halek Cain has barely survived his own clash with Scheid’s forces. When everyone in the battered Maglan Fleet has given up on the Destroyers, Cain does what he does best—goes full Reaper Renegade to save their collective backsides.

What could possibly stop him besides an alien AI and its swarm? Or maybe his arch enemy, General Scheid and his clone army. Cain bites off more than any Reaper can chew and learns his only hope lies in the wisdom of a mysterious beast he left in the forests of Maglan.

Join the Halek Cain and his allies for this latest installment of The Last Reaper series.

Amazing as all

All these books are good Sci-fi fun in a well built world. Voice acting is great and plot is engaging. The slow build through all the books was great.

Starting to get a bit too far out and confusing

I used to LOVE the Last Reaper series, but it is now starting to get really confusing. In the past, it was sci-fi, but still relatable, it was in a very similar universe just in the future, but now it is getting really too far out with all these AI's and different aliens and this virus thing, etc that are showing up waayy too fast, and I can't really seem to follow the story anymore. It has been hard to follow ever since Cain died, or didn't die, or transferred his consciousness to his original body? Then Bug gre up instantly;y and Elise is some General now... why? How that happened still has me confused, but the story since then feels like they are really giving up on laying out a good relatable story and trying for cool sci-fi futuristic stuff, which isn't what I loved about the Last Reaper. I loved it for the great, easy to follow and relatable story, like any good sci-fi book. Cain used to have his reaper implants and his glowing personality to succeed with, but now it is all this weird super secondary skin, and I dunno.... like I said, the last 3 books or so I haven't been able to follow the story at all, like I have lost all interest, which SUCKS, because I used to LOVE Halek Cain. I don't even know what they are trying to fight for anymore, first it was to find keep Elise Safe, then to find a safe planet for everyone to live away from the oppression of the Union, but now? I have NO idea..but it seems like the original plot of saving the mother so they can have that pristine perfect planet failed horribly because.. I dunno.. a bunch of reaper clones?

Starting to lose interest in this series.

After the "Reboot" in Book 11(Soul of the Reaper), it feels like the characters were recast by different actors or something. It doesn't have the same flow as the first 10 books. The authors seem to think if you just keep adding villains, it makes the story more exciting.
