Sweet and fun listen

Allison and Dane were just pretending. But as with most pretend romances, they turn real. That is about where the predictions end and the real story begins. People meddling, secrets to protect each other and disbelief riddle this relationship to the point of possible devastation. Each chapter brings a little more light into this every growing romance.

Allison is sweet and easy to like. Dane is so protective and almost instantly head over heels as he pretends to be Allison's boyfriend. This romance is a sweet, ever changing romance. They capture the readers heart and you cannot put this book down. I really enjoyed the challenges the couple faces and how they solved the problems.

The narrator, Verify Burns is easy to listen to. She narrates at a good pace that is easy to follow. Ms Burns was clear and easy to understand as well.

Sweet and Sexy start to this series!

I love fake relationship romance and this is a fun story. Allyson is a smart, hardworking assistant and is crushing on her boss. When her family gives her a hard time for not having a boyfriend, she tells them what they want to hear. When her boss, billionaire playboy Dane Prescott finds out she told them she was dating him, he offers to be her date for her brother's wedding. Little did Allyson know, but Dane has feelings for her as well. I loved how sweet and protective he was of Allyson. But when you are an eligible hot billionaire bachelor, you can't make a move without the press finding out. Now their little weekend of deception takes on a life of it's own. This fun, emotional, sweet and sexy romance has twists and turns that keep you totally engaged. Narrator, Verity Burns, had a pleasant voice, with good articulation. I felt it was a bit monotone at times and would have loved more passion and emotion in her performance. I did enjoy this book tho and am looking forward to finding out what happens next in book #2.

Great Story & Listen🎧 4.5 Enjoyable Stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the first book in Lexy Timms’ “Fake Billionaire” series, I enjoyed her writing style and the interesting storylines she created. They grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end and what an ending it is!!! The character are likable and easy to relate to, my heart went out to Allyson, she is constantly be verbally beaten by her parents and bitch of a sister. So she does a foolish thing and makes up a story that she is dating her rich boss. Her boss, Dane Prescott, finds out about this lie and agrees to be her date for her brothers wedding. The two hit it off, she always crushed on Dane and it seems he has a soft spot for her as well. When one lie leads into another they both get in deep, with her family, his family and even business partners. Dane’s world is a cut throat world but Allyson can stand up to the best of them. I admired her strength and ability to think on her feet. Dane disappointed me when he jumped to conclusions, but redeemed himself when he looked out for her best interest even if it meant pushing her away. Lexy Timms fit an impressive amount of story into this book, it is well plotted and there is never a dull moment, with plenty of drama, some angst, twists and turns, some heartfelt moments and some hot ones. Thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to what comes next for Allyson and Dane in the next book of the series, “Temporary CEO”.

Verity Burns is a talented narrator and voice artist. She does a nice job bringing the characters and their story to life. Her portrayal of the characters is spot on, she captures and project their emotions it into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

It was ok.

The story was interesting but the narrator doesn’t do a very good job displaying emotion and I had a hard time paying attention because it wasn’t super interesting. (I did not pay for this audiobook it was gifted for review under a promo code)

Any additional comments?

Faking It by Lexy Timms was a great read. Dane finds himself attracted to his assistant Allyson. She has always crushed on her boss. When she has no date to her brother's wedding, she lies to her family and says Dante is her boyfriend and can't make the wedding. She never expected Dante to find out about her lie. I thought this was a great book that I enjoyed reading. I can't wait to read more of the series.

Nice quick listen

This is the first book by Lexy Timms that i've listen to, and I enjoyed the story of Allyson and Dane.
Its an enjoyable fake fiance romance. At under 5 hours its a nice quick listen that doesn't drag.
The narrator Verity Burns has a British accent, and I did find it confusing for the audios which are American characters,
But other than that she did a decent job.

Listen at 1.3 speed

This book was a little confusing for me. The elephant in the room: British accent narration for an American couple from New York?? I was like wait ...am I missing something?? It’s not like I dislike the narration I actually like British accents but I did have to speed it up and that really helps. The plot is a little unbelievable...rumors are rumors and I felt they all really over reacted to everything. This ends in a juicy cliffhanger and I can’t wait to start the next.

Not your average "billionaire" romance

Let's face it, billionaires in romance books tend to have many of the same characteristics. They're ruthless, rude and downright nasty.

I was pleasantly surprised with Dane Prescott. Sure, he is a workaholic. And yes, he does have the requisite revolving door for all the women in his life. Although up front we are introduced to a man who genuinely likes his assistant Allyson. He is attracted to her but apart from that, he shows her kindness and compassion and offers to help with a fake relationship.

Allyson Smith may have a crush on her boss but she's smart enough to keep her personal and professional lives separate. She is intelligent, an asset to the company and displays no TSTL moments. Refreshing!

Dane and Allyson's relationship is somewhat of a rollercoaster ride as they try to outmanoeuvre their respective family's machinations - be it trying to keep them together or keeping them apart. Additionally they question themselves and each other as they determine whether they are right for each other. Even with uncertainty around them, I appreciated that they did communicate. The messages were not always the hearts and flowers variety but they were real.

At just under 5 hours, the book kept me pleasantly entertained for an entire afternoon.

Verity Burns narrates this book. Her British accent was pleasant to listen to and both male and female parts were distinct. I did feel that the narration was at times too soft-spoken. I also found the first few minutes difficult to get into because I felt the speech bordered on the monotone. Overall, it was a good narration and I would be happy to listen to another of Verity's narrations.

Meh

The characters are a bit wishy washy both are great at business but when it comes to the families they just don’t stand up for their selves. The American characters done by British narration is frustrating. I don’t like that it’s a cliff hanger and I looked a head to see there are 5 books. I’m not spending any more credits on this series.
