About this listen
From his beginnings as a humble carpenter to his all-important role as the earthly father of Jesus Christ, Joseph's place in the nativity story is sometimes overlooked but contains valuable lessons for all of us. Join Adam Hamilton as he examines Christmas through the eyes of Joseph. Absent from much of the biblical narrative, Joseph never spoke a word, but his courageous actions were crucial to the birth of Christ and God's salvation plan for humanity.
After listening to this audiobook, you will understand how Joseph's story is much like our own. In life, we encounter circumstances that we would never have chosen for ourselves. At times it can be tempting just to walk away. Joseph provides us with a great example of humbly obeying God, even when we don't understand, and faithfully moving forward in the strength that God provides.
Exchange your doubt for courage this Advent and Christmas season. Learn to accept and glorify God's will even when circumstances make it difficult to do so.

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, Jesus gave them this prayer. He likely taught it to his followers often, not just one time. He never intended the Lord's Prayer to be a museum piece, placed on a mantel. It was Jesus teaching God's people, through his disciples, how to pray. In The Lord's Prayer: The Meaning and Power of the Prayer Jesus Taught, Adam Hamilton guides us to really know—and really pray—the Lord's Prayer. He explores each of its rich lines and their meaning in the Bible, illuminating what we ask of God and what we ask of ourselves through its words.

Story
At one of the lowest points in Henri Nouwen’s life, he gave a series of lectures on the importance of following Jesus in an age of anxiety. Drawn from those talks, this new work reveals what sustained Nouwen to remain faithful to the teachings of Jesus and led him to become an icon of compassion and vulnerability. Here, he writes eloquently about calling and purpose, fear and hope. And he explains why - with so many choices available to the 21st-century seeker - the greatest reward for those looking for spiritual direction is rediscovering Jesus’ teaching on love.

Millions of Christians have struggled with how to reconcile God's love and God's judgment: Has God created billions of people over thousands of years only to select a few to go to heaven and everyone else to suffer forever in hell? Is this acceptable to God? How is this "good news"? Author, pastor, and innovative teacher Rob Bell presents a deeply biblical vision for rediscovering a richer, grander, truer, and more spiritually satisfying way of understanding heaven, hell, God, Jesus, salvation, and repentance.

One thing moves God: faith. Not doctrinal savvy. Not willpower. Trust in God alone stirs him to move miraculously on our behalf. Time and again, Jim Cymbala, author of Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, has seen the power of faith displayed in the lives of the ordinary people in his church, and in his own life. He has seen drug addicts and prostitutes set free, marriages restored, and sinners transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. All through the kind of radical, living faith described in this audiobook.

When we rewind history to Abraham's era, we encounter people who concocted false superstitions to explain the unexplainable. Powerful kings claimed to be gods, building massive pyramids in an attempt to achieve immortality. Out of this mass of misunderstandings, this collage of confusion, one man emerged. Why, thousands of years later, are we still discussing the faith of this desert nomad? Chuck Swindoll answers that question and many more in this compelling and insightful biography that will inspire your own faith.

Fantastic new perspective on the Christmas narrative
Very well researched and presented! We appreciated that the author sought out details of the story that we often overlook when we read the Christmas story or sing carols. We also appreciated that he named the Holy family as refugees and the outcasts, calling out his readers to question how they treat those people on modern society.

A Real Gift for Christmas
With the grace, humility and wisdom that surely characterized Saint Joseph, Adam Hamilton weaves a fascinating narrative of our Lord’s foster father. It was refreshing to view the Christmas story from a different perspective. This I a masculine perspective that is both strong and gentle. The author is a Protestant pastor. Not surprisingly, as a Catholic, there are details in his presentation of Joseph l see differently. However, the overall portrait he sketches is compelling and unexpectedly illuminating. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and was particularly moved by the final chapter on how our good Lord seeks for us, his lost sheep.

False advertising, this book is NOT the Xmas story thru Joseph’s eyes
I hated this book. Hated every noun and consonant of it. Hated it’s lack of historicity, hated the forced sentimentality of the narration, hated the reaching patriarchal mansplanations of it’s premises. If you’re looking for a “story of through Christmas through the eyes of Joseph”, this isn’t it....but if you’re looking for poorly researched evangelical hogwash...eat up.

Joseph, the Father of Our Lord
This is a look at Joseph as the father of Jesus. A good listen, and a thoughtful consideration of what it took to accept the call of God upon his life, to marry Mary and raise the Savior of the world. Even though it was only a little over 2 1/2 hours long, it could've been told in an hour, I think. The author made some good points that I hadn't thought about, for which I am thankful.
