About this listen

John Green's The Fault in Our Stars meets Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor & Park in this darkly funny novel from the critically acclaimed author of The Beginning of Everything.

Up until his diagnosis, Lane lived a fairly predictable life. But when he finds himself at a tuberculosis sanatorium called Latham House, he discovers an insular world with paradoxical rules, med sensors, and an eccentric yet utterly compelling confidante named Sadie - and life as Lane knows it will never be the same.

Robyn Schneider's Extraordinary Means is a heart-wrenching yet ultimately hopeful story about the miracles of first love and second chances.

This production includes a bonus excerpt from Robyn Schneider’s next audiobook, Invisible Ghosts, performed by Caitlin Kelly.

I'm crying

I enjoyed...everything. Sadie & Lane are a spin of 'The Fault in Our Stars' but I enjoyed this twist on a true love story. Better for teens or hopeless romantics like me. Highly recommend.

I so badly wanted to like it

the book just seemed like a whole lot of nothing. the characters don't have much of a personality. sadie is the "tough rule breaker" and lane nerd who spends too much time studying. they are both dying. that is pretty much all we know about them. i would of enjoyed it more if their was more exploration of the characters and less fluff to keep the story going. the narration was good though I could really feel the teen angst.

Beautiful

Such a beautifully written story. I quickly became attached to the characters and laughed and cried along with them. This is a must read for sure!

Predictable!

I love John Green so was excited to read a book that had been compared to his writing! But this was predictable with teenagers who were way too witty and quick. There were some silly lines... the boyfriend who "couldn't help but hope" that his sick girlfriend would get better... obviously! I finished it and did love her other book but you should pass!

Better for teens

This is your typical teenage love story. By the description I thought it would be a little more sci-fi or plot-based, but really it is just a teenage love story. But I do think teens would like it.

Loved this

Incredible book! It made me happy and sad at the same time, and the love story behind this illness was so heart warming.
