About this listen

Emily Baxter feared she was the sole survivor of a deadly alien plague that swept through New York City, the nation, and the world in a downpour of blood red rain. And when the dead began transforming into a terrifying new form of life, she feared her survival might be brutally short-lived. Then, a human voice crackled from a satellite phone, urging her to flee north, where more refugees of the global annihilation hunkered down in a desolate Alaskan outpost. Now, with only the supplies she can carry and her faithful dog, Emily races across the country, desperate to outrun the horrors close behind. When she discovers more survivors on the way, they join forces in their determination to cling to life and fight for the future. Standing in their way are Earth’s new masters, equally determined to survive and thrive, and possessed of monstrous capabilities which Emily and her allies can’t begin to imagine…until they’re face-to-face with the hideous reality.

Didn't see it coming

Just wow! The first book was great. So was this one. It dragged a little towards the end, but it was still great to listen too. Paul's idea of an apocalyptic word after the red rain, is great. He has you fall in love with Emily, the children and even the dog. When things keep taking a turn for the worse, you can put this down. You'll want to listen to the end for sure. Moving on to the next book!

Good story but really annoying voice

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The book series is all about girl power during an extension event, the guys keep dropping like flies and it is getting tedious.

What other book might you compare Exodus to and why?

Just like the first book the story continues.

How could the performance have been better?

The children and adults are always yelling at each other and the presenters voice made my teeth crawl, I nearly turned the book off twice.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Maybe but I could do with out the whole girl power crusade.

Any additional comments?

I do like the concept of the book and want to see where the story line is going.

Well written, well read, and a fascinating premise

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I had listened to the first one and didn't realize that it was part of a series. I stumbled upon the second and the third audiobook and was very excited. I'm glad to hear that the same person is reading the book for the audiobook. She was a great choice. I really like the way this one developed, too. Glad they introduced more characters. Looking forward to starting the next book.

Great sequel!

I found the first book of this series to be engaging and original, a dystopia that stood above many other books of the same genre. I anticipated the sequel and now that I've listened to the whole book almost nonstop, it doesn't disappoint. There are many poignant moments, especially the ending. I found it to be both hopeful and devastating, which is a running trend throughout the book - you're happy the character has survived one more close call, but you just know that in the background the world is changing irreparably. By the way, if you haven't read the first book, I suggest you do before listening to the sequel, or otherwise some situations won't make as much sense. I can't see how there could be a third book in this series, though, the ending felt quite definite, which is kind of sad. The narrator does a great job!

Stunning

As before, an excellent story well developed and well narrated. The ending totally unforeseen. Staring book 3 in a few minutes.

Pretty good end of the world novel

This novel was pretty good. The plot has me intrigued, but just like the first one in the series, there is too much unnecessary time spent inside the main character's head. And she is still unrealistic ally stupid about things. But the plot has me interested enough to read the third installment.

Solid book 2

Emily's at it again, alone in a spooky world with just Jason on the other end of the world. I did enjoy new characters and the new scary adventures. Just an edit and this goes for books 1-3 stop saying proverbial. So far interesting enough to get book 3. I really hope this will wrap up nicely
Great narrator!
