Story okay; narration, not so much...

Kali O'Brien is a lawyer who is helping her older mentor, Sam, handle a murder case. They are defending a man with a long history of previous aggressive actions which has left many people believing him quite capable of committing the crime. Kali went to school with him, and since she well recalls his past, even she has difficulty at first deciding to help with his defense. The characters are pretty well developed, and the story is okay (though ending could have been better). It's fairly predictable.

This is a series that is okay, but I don't find listening to it very pleasant. The narration is just too hard to get past. I gave it one star because I've heard worse, but it's so bad, it is quite distracting.
