How can all that action be so boring?

Too contrived, ridiculous timelines, too many characters. Started out ok but got bogged down. Not my favorite narrator.

Sooooo disappointing!

No character depth. The author didn’t develop the characters sufficiently. Overly dramatic narration. This novel is truly a waste of time. I returned it.

Melodramatic

I can’t tell if it was written or just read melodramatically but it was tough to get through bc of all the eye roll that ensued while listening to it.

not worth the purchase

cliche after cliche, found myself watching the time left counter hoping for the end. And that end totally unrealistic and unbelievable given the context of the characters.

Technicality

Too much detail not enough character development ending not outstanding description was impeccable but predictable

The subject of story, very scary!I

The book was so intense and was definitely a Crichton novel. I could not tell where Michael’s work stopped and Patterson began; It was seamless. James Patterson was an excellent choice. I am so glad Crichton’s final work has been shared with his fans.

Hooked at every turn!

The story line really got me and hooked me at every turn! Right until the very, very end!! I gasped, I laughed out loud, I almost cried, and just couldn't stop listening. I finished this book over a course of 5 days. So dang good!!

Its ok, there is only so much in an eruption

I'm not a fan of James Patterson and so I'm struggling with this book as well. I am a huge fan of Michael Crichton but I also get this book was started by him but not finished. Its ok. The characters are not memorable. The eruption takes all the book to really get anywhere and its just a boring character driven story. This book could have been half its size and still would have been boring.

Narration choppy, hard to listen to.

Narrator was the worst part. Choppy.. tried to sound authoritative but waaay missed the mark. Dialogue was trite at times and story was slow.

Two over the top

A little too dramatic and far-fetched for my taste. The two different catastrophes were not combined in a way that blew the top off my mountain.
