About this listen

Emma Rathburn would love to be normal...if she can figure out what that is. Her life is a disaster, with the unexpected arising all too frequently, to trample her best efforts. Lately, things have been getting even more out-of-hand. If she can't get control, she'll have nothing left: no friends, no job, no life. But, how can she cope, when so much of the threat is more than physical, and the fingers which encircle her throat no longer belong to living hands?©2008 N.D. Narrator

I paid a lot of money to listen to this excellent audio book and the narrator ruined it. She draws out each word so slowly with perfect pronunciation and I wound up clenching my jaw until I could stand it no longer. I stopped listening to the audio book because she was so irritating and I will finish the book when I can find it in paperback.

I try very hard to give each narrator the benefit of trying to get past any objections to their style, however I have firmly put this narrator on my list of "I would rather rip my eyeballs out of their sockets before ever listening to her again". Please do not take my word for it, do some research for yourself. Other people have expressed similar opinions on other books she has read! By the way, this is my first review. I only thought that other narrators could be a bit annoying, this lady is in a league of her own.... The story is pretty bad as well. I suffered through less than half before I realized what a bad mood the narrator AND the book were inflicting on me. I won't make the mistake of looking at the title and thinking "oh that sounds interesting" Live and Learn.

I have listened to numerous audible books over the years, and the worst by far. The story was so boring that about half way through I finally admited defeat to stopped listening.
