Publisher's summary

A warrior from another universe. A woman running from an abusive relationship. A rip in the fabric of space-time and a malevolent alien race bent on destruction. How does it all tie together? Listen to Enticed by the Satyr, the first book of the Monstrum Kindred, to find out.

Mia could have had a beautiful life. She had a scholarship to Juilliard and a future as a concert pianist ahead of her. But that was before her boyfriend got her pregnant on prom night and her strict parents forced her to get married. Now her life has been spent as the wife of an abusive husband who hates the music she still loves to play. But she dreams of a better future…and she also dreams of a stranger in the dark, one who will offer love and tenderness instead of hatred and scorn.

Storn is a Satyr—one of the Monstrum Kindred. Though he lives in a whole different universe, he begins to Dream Share with Mia. He longs to save her from her cruel husband, so when a rip opens in the fabric of space-time that leads from his universe into hers, he volunteers to go.

But there is trouble brewing…more rips are opening in the fabric of space-time and whole universes are being overrun by the Darklings—embodiments of pure evil that strip their victims to the bone and fill whole solar systems with their malice.

Can Storn save Mia from her abusive ex? And will the Monstrum Kindred come to Earth when the Darklings invade? More importantly, will they be allowed to call human brides when they themselves look so very different from regular Kindred?

You’ll have to listen to Enticed by the Satyr to find out…

Monstrum Kindred!!

If you have followed any of this series, you know there are several different types of Kindred. I am kinda thinking I am a Monstrum Kindred fan. Kindred are already protective of females, so there is no cheating or disrespecting of any female. Kindred are REALLY large fellows, so they have so problem if the female has some extra pounds. The Monstrum Kindred actually prefers older women- they do not care if you have grey hair, extra pounds, a lot more wrinkles, hot flashes, and/or a complete obsession with chocolate. I need one of these males stat! On a serious side, these stories are just so sweet in how the women are cared for. I mean there is always some bizarre thing that happens where these two characters are thrown into a compromising situation that is usually sexual in some nature, but it must be done to save the world. I mean that is why we read these stories. I read/listen to ALOT of books on a weekly basis. While some people may listen to music as they work. I listen to audiobooks. About every 3 books, I usually grab one of Evangeline's stories because they lift my heart. The males are truly gems, and the stories are fun with imaginative scenery. They are light-hearted and inspiring. Storyn, the Satyr Monstrum in this story finds his mate Mia because he has started dream sharing with her. Mia is in a very abusive situation and Storyn is the perfect mate to heal her heart and soul. He is one of my favorite males of this series.

🐏 🚀 Story Felt Rushed 🚀 🐏

Although this book was well written and contained all the yummy goodness that comes with Evangeline Anderson’s wonderfully creative writing it wasn’t my favorite. Weirdly enough I’m going to complain about its length. Anderson has been know to write some super long books and I feel that this book was too short. There was a lot going on in this book and things felt rushed to me. I think that some of the “behind the scenes” introduction of the Monstrum Kindred into the fleet needed to be fleshed out some. I would have also liked a scene or two from Storn’s POV as he acclimated to the new universe. I also believe that the romance needed more page time. A lot of Storn and Mia’s connection was assumed because of the dream sharing phenomenon that happens when a Kindred calls a bride. I wanted just a bit more bonding time between them.

Something that I really enjoyed about this book was the interactions between the Brides Of Kindred OG couple that were in the story. What I love about the Kindred Tales books is that you don’t need to be up to date on the main series, Brides of the Kindred, to enjoy them. This is now the 5th KT book that I’ve read and as long as you’ve read the first 4 BOTK books you’re familiar enough with the serialized plot of that series to easily understand what the author has done with the completely standalone stories in the KT series. Often in the spin off series an OG character from the main series will appear. Usually it’s Sylvan (HUNTED) seeing as he’s the head of the Kindred council but in this book we not only get Sylvan but Olivia and Baird (CLAIMED) too. They had a large presence in the plot line. In the two Kindred series’ timelines it’s been 10 years since we were first introduced to this Alien species and I enjoyed seeing the dynamic between Olivia and Baird all these years later. Also, Olivia was able to address something at the end of ENTICED BY THE SATYR that has always bugged me about these books. She said something that had needed to be said since the Kindred first started calling their brides from the 🌎

I found the introduction of this new Kindred subspecies really exciting and am looking forward to learning more about them. I know the multiverse has come up in other Kindred books but this is the first time that I remember coming across the author’s version of what the multiverse is. What she likens it to in her description is quite grin worthy and perhaps even a bit mouthwatering 🤤

Mackenzie Cartwright gave a great performance. She does such a good job portraying emotion with her voice. I always enjoy listening to her. Her one flaw in my opinion is that she seems unable to use a large variety of voices to differentiate the characters.

*Trigger Warning: Domestic violence and references to a date r@pe in the FMC’s past.

Good Introduction

This book was a great introduction to the Monstrum Kindred. This storyline handled some pretty deep issues. Mackenzie did a great job with characters. Glad the Kindred series will continue because I for one love the Kindred warriors and look forward to listening to the next book.

Same Old Thing

new type of Kindred but same personality and another retread storyline. There is the potential for story development, action and excitement but, as usual, it is only 1 chapter. Snore...
