Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Kristen Ashley comes the new book in her River Rain Series, Embracing the Change.

That kiss ...

Gorgeous New York socialite Nora Ellington has been waiting a very long time for her happily ever after.

So long, she’s given up on it, and has decided even though she’s the plus-one friend without benefits to a man she’s head over heels in love with, an HEA will forever be out of her reach.

Handsome billionaire Jamie Oakley thought he’d had two happily ever afters in his life. However, neither lasted long, and both ended in tragedy. He’s not about to try it again or put his children through the trauma Jamie has learned from experience undoubtedly will come their way.

And he’s made this decision even if the woman who’s become his constant companion is a woman he loves straight to his soul ... and wants with everything that is him.

But then, one night, Jamie loses control and kisses Nora.

He can’t go there.

She can’t go on without it.

They’ll never be the same.

Or will they?

Great edition with J&N

Loved everything but the weird switches in accent and voices for Jamie. So odd it was distracting. Story was great. Love the series. My brain has to work hard to remember who is who in this clique. I need a chart 😂 Have loved Nora from her start in this series. She is quite the character. Enjoyed this greatly.

Enjoyed!

First I did enjoy the book. Narrators did a great job! I wish there was more of the love story of the two main characters and less of the secondary. In her older books I loved how the interaction of secondary characters really helped shape and build into the personality of the characters, now it just seems like extra dialogue. This is still a five star book for me , but it’s a book I didn’t get hooked into like some of her older books and will probably only read once. It missed the angst her male characters go through to get their HEA with our heroine and her growing and becoming the woman me as the reader get proud of and love.

Talented author!

It’s a five star review for my favorite author!
If I was to name my top ten books she would have written more than half.
I’ve read romance novels for over forty years now and read hers again and again! The chemistry she writes between her characters is destiny in the making. When her characters finally meet it’s a head turning, stop moving because my soul was just stolen! Amazing! In my head I can still picture a scene from my favorite book Sweet Dreams when Lauren first sees Tate get off his bike and she wishes she could have someone like that. Well we get to feel how she’s feeling at that time and Kristen Ashley gives her that man. The point of where her characters start and the journey they achieve is a beautiful reading experience. That book is one of the finest romance novels I’ve ever read. The way this author writes and sets up scenes to feel the story is epic and they stay with you. I have felt such emotions while reading from this author more than any other. Talented!!!
Anyway, enjoy this book and read her older books, they’re all really good.

A great listen

Another great addition to the river rain series! I really enjoyed Nora and Jamie! I was hooked immediately! This was a one sit listen for me! The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life! This one played out like a movie in my mind! Although this can be read as a standalone I would definitely recommend reading the others first. That way you get how all the characters and some of the back story connect! This is one that I definitely recommend!

Overall disappointing

Voice of Nora was pretentious and overdone. Made the story unbearable to listen to. Kristen Ashley normally kills it but no one needed this bad plot.

Not the Best one

I wish they would have used the original narrators to me changing to two new ones didnt make me feel like it was part of the series. The story was slow and never got my attention like the orher ones.
