About this listen

Book one of the trilogy.

Eza lost her father, who was betrayed by her mother.

She is on the run. An elf warrior-in-training. She met Dasia, an angel and member of the Order of the Golden Feather - an elite group of angel weapon makers and secret society that is spread throughout the world, smiting fallen angels, vampires, or whoever offends the Lord.

One problem. Eza isn’t a huge fan of churches. Or secret societies. She travels with Dasia only to learn how to use those strange magical powers inside her and find the last dragon egg on Earth.

And Dasia’s father had once saved Eza from her own mother.

But when a lost scroll enters an auction in New York, and Dasia is in dire need, Eza finds herself forced to step up and assist. And when demons, giants, vampires, and Nephilim attack the auction for the scroll, Dasia and Eza are forced to join teams, and one-time foes become hesitant allies.

Eza must learn where she stands as an elf. Will she turn her back on the Order, or come to Dasia’s aid? And will she finally come to appreciate God or lose her soul to the fallen?

Because, Eza soon learns she isn’t just an elf, and it was never just about the scroll. Her mother has evidently been hunting Eza her entire life, and now, she’s finally found her....

Contemporary Fantasy

This was my first experience with Marion E. Jones' work and it was fun. I enjoyed this tale about Eza, an elf warrior-in-training, who is on the run and all the people and characters that she meets on her journey. Some of the story seemed choppy in that not every scene flowed into the next one, but on the whole it was a fun read. I am interested in the next book in the series. Jenn McGuirk's narration was fine and her voice was pleasant. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Pretty good

Was a good book but was hard for me to follow the plot. Is there going to be a 2nd book for this?

Enjoyable Fantasy

I really enjoyed the story. Eza is an Elf whose lived alone in the woods for many years with a fairy and an angel for a guardians unaware she’s being hunted by her mother. Along the way she meets others who help her train and introduce her to the human world. An enjoyable short listen that perfect sets up the next book

Elf meets world

This is the account of some epic quest.

instead it is the episodic adventures of the last Elf on Earth as she escapes from her isolated life and meets new people. Humans, werewolves, even a mermaid.

I enjoyed the story but desperately wanted something more, like what happened to the other elves, and why was she so isolated? answers to these questions are dropped rather hurriedly at the end indicating that there will be future books coming.

The Narrator Jenn McGuirk was good at giving each character a unique voice, especially the Latina Werewolf.

Want More!

I enjoyed this book and would like to hear more. Seems just as I was really getting into the book it came to an end. Jenn McGuirk does a great job narrating. This book was a pleasure to listen to and I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.
