What if Fitzwilliam Darcy refused to approach Elizabeth Bennet when he observes her upon the grounds of Pemberley? What if Elizabeth permits Mr. Darcy to think her the one ruined by Mr. Wickham? FITZWILLIAM DARCY's pride makes the natural leap to ELIZABETH BENNET's ruination when the lady appears, without notice, upon Pemberley's threshold to plead for Darcy's assistance in locating his long-time enemy, George Wickham. Initially, Darcy cannot look beyond the pain of lost hopes, but when Charles Bingley demands that Darcy act with honor, Darcy assumes the task. Even so, the idea of delivering Miss Elizabeth into the hand of Mr. Wickham leaves Darcy raw with anguish. Yet, Darcy loves Elizabeth Bennet too much to see her brought low. He sets his heartbreak aside to save the woman he loves, but it is not long before Darcy realizes Elizabeth practices a deception, one Darcy permits so he might remain at her side long enough to convince the lady only in each other can they find happiness. Their adventure takes more twists and turns than does the original "Pride and Prejudice," but the reader will enjoy the devotion displayed by Darcy and Elizabeth as they bring Wickham to the line in Lydia Bennnet's defense, as well as their working their way through multiple misconstructions and vulnerabilities. Darcy's final wooing of Elizabeth brings two very private individuals to a very public declaration of their love.

Super American sounding virtual voice

Overall, this is such a good story, but the virtual voice which is always worse than a real reader was exceptionally bad because it had such an American accent. I’m talking super American accent here. I still listened to the whole book and I enjoyed it because the story was so good, but whoever chose this virtual voice seriously messed up. Even a neutral accent would have been better. But really if only this book had a living narrator, I would buy it. Now I’m just happy that it was included in the membership.

it was a pretty interesting story

I wasn't sure if I could take the virtual voice. but I just thought of it as somebody who didn't have very much talent reading. so it worked for me. however I really don't understand why they couldn't make it a British voice. I don't understand why so many words were mispronounced. I mean, really they could say mama and papa correctly. French Style English Style. and there are lots of just common English words that were mispronounced

Story drags. Read or listen to if you need a nap.

Don’t waste your time. This story unnecessarily drags on for longer than necessary.
Virtual voice does not help, but makes it worse.

I dislike this Elizabeth

Elizabeth is mean spirited, opinionated, arrogant and I thoroughly disliked her. I can’t imagine why Darcy loved her and the whole story was about how he tried to win her love. He really should’ve dumped her and found someone more deserving. Actually none of the characters were presented very well. They were all flat.
