About this listen

Imagine a world where everything is perfect.

Everything. Harmony between all people...between humanity and nature...between people and God. Now imagine yourself transported to this paradise. Just when Carter Friese thinks life can’t get any better - it does. Carter is transported to Gomor, where he gets a taste of what his world (our world) would have looked like if no one ever sinned. Scene after scene unfolds to Carter’s amazement. As he grows in knowledge of God’s original plan for creation (utopian human society, harmony among all creatures, and the active part that heaven takes in each human life), he is satiated with joy and beauty. But Carter’s own spiritual condition opens the door to evil - an opportunity the powers of darkness have long awaited in this pristine realm. Only a close encounter with God prepares Carter for his perilous assignment: escorting Euphonie to his world.

Euphonie is a songwriter who has never known anything but beauty and bliss. When she loses her ability to write lyrics, she becomes an enigma in her world. God assigns her a pilgrimage to regain her gifting.

An innocent realm hangs in the balance as the powers of darkness pit one realm against the other. They scheme for nothing short of a second fall.

Take a Trip….to Eden

This was my first experience with Christian fantasy. I was totally swept away by the language used to describe what Eden could potentially have been like. I enjoyed musing this subject as I transposed the words into pictures in my mind. The plot was totally unpredictable but kept luring me deeper into its web. Yet the Gospel message is not neglected this beautifully crafted book by Vicki Edwards. I highly recommend it.

Refreshing story with a fresh producer

I am a big fan of audiobooks as I rarely have time to sit down for leisure reading. I've listened to some mediocre books salvaged by a great narrator and some incredible books almost ruined by a terrible narrator. I've even listened to some books where both elements were good but the narrator's voice didn't feel right for the story. The Goldilocks zone is where the content and narrator play together in a lovely harmony. Which is what happens here.

Eden's Guest is not a dark and creepy story with tons of tension. It's a refreshing imaginative story that dares to wonder what life would be like if there had never been a fall. The characters are likable, Carter the charming Bible college professor and Euphony, the songwriter from a perfect world struggling to find words than haven't already been sung. The pacing is good and the story keeps you listening but what really makes it all come together is just imagining a world that isn't filled with the depravity and pain we see around us everyday. That alone makes it worth listening to. Give yourself a break from dark and dreary.

Tyler Robbert (great first name. But I had it first so he needs to back off :-p) has an excellent voice and his reading is smooth. The audio is crisp and clean and sounds well produced. His voice is easy to listen to. Additionally he does three things well: 1. He adds just enough vocal changes for different characters to make listening more enjoyable. 2. He reads with the emotion each scene should logically have. 3. He actually sings some songs in the story well. All in all, impressive.

Great presentation!

Im not a religious person so there where some things I didn't care for or agree with, but I took it as a story and nothing more. In that, I think it was written well and the characters were well created. Again, since I'm not religious, I did find there to be plot holes that didn't make sense, but again I took it as a fictional story and enjoyed it for that.

The narration by Tyler Robbert was great! I've heard him in another book and his ability to voice so many different characters and even sing is always a great experience with him. I follow his work and am never dissatisfied. Well done!

Great storyline

I enjoyed listening to Edens Garden. I enjoyed the storyline. It is crafted much like science fiction.. in this case Christian Science fiction story. It gave my imagination a workout as I tried to picture the scenes as they were descriptively framed.
