About this listen

Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Not when you're the devil's nephew. An unexpected message gives Frank the answer he's sought for years - where did God and Lucifer go? - but the knowledge brings its own dilemma as interdimensional war looms, threatening to engulf the Earth. Tasked with the planet's defense, Frank scrounges for a plan and finds a piece of his past better left behind. If the aliens don't kill him, what he learns just might.

So good!

Where does Echoes of the Past rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top ten, for sure.

What other book might you compare Echoes of the Past to and why?

The Dresden Files. Sparky, magic-using, gutter-brained, and lacking an oral filter, Frank reminds me of Harry. He even has a talking head (though Bob was alot smarter than CB,they are both total perverts)

Have you listened to any of Noah Michael Levine’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and I think this is his best test of talent. This really marks him as a talented actor, rather than a great narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

A lot of laughing, and maybe a little misty-eyed at the end.

Any additional comments?

A roller coaster thrill ride!

Another pedal to the metal addition to the series. In this one, Frank finally finds out where Lucifer and God disappeared to all those years ago, and the knowledge is no comfort, since they are off fighting a rebellion by all the other dimensions God created, which is about to spill on to Earth. Sound crazy? It is, in the best way! Frank has to confront Interdimentional demons, the Vampires and Weres he got on the wrong side of with the Heaven fiasco, as well as a new threat, the US Department of Supernatural Investigations, fully funded now after all the destruction in the Heaven incident. Just what Frank needs, Feds trying to pin all the supernatural bad stuff going on lately on to his back. How's he going to succeed? With guns and magic, of course. Enjoy the ride, it's a wild one.
The Plot is fast paced as always, with great characters and sharp as a razor dialogue, one of Tim Maruitz's strengths as a writer. His dialogue sometimes has me back up the narration just to hear a particularly good line again! This series is a must have for any fan of urban fantasy! Noah Levine's narrations is top shelf as always, bringing you into the story.
